The burger report for Jack's Burger Shack St Albert. Jack's Burger Shack has apparently been open for about 10 years or so and... have gotten a bit of a reputation so we decided to give them a try. Please note if you are going here that they are closedbetween 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. so don't make the mistake we did and come at 2:45 LOL. Once we found a parking spot at the backof the building we walked around to Jack's and it's a small cozy little eatery but the staff are super friendly and veryinformative on any questions you may have. They seem to be a licensed establishment so you can get a shot of liquor in yourdrink which is a nice surprise. They have a selection of burgers which did take us a little bit of time to order as we were notfamiliar with the menu but with help from our server we decided to try The hangover Burger and the regular burger with cheeseand bacon added as well as a poutine. The meal was cooked in a timely manner and we received our food faster than we expected. The hangover Burger is basically a burger in between two grilled cheese which is pretty good but the regular burger with baconand cheese was my favorite. The meat is a Smashburger but they grill it to a point where the meat and fat is rendered toward theedges giving it that beautiful flavor we've all come to love, the condiments are very fresh and they're homemade Jack sauce hadan excellent flavor with the burger, my only complaint was that I didn't get a double Patty. The hangover Burger which is thegrilled cheese themed tasted good and I can see why some people consider this their favorite. The poutine was excellent, thefresh cut fries and done to a Golden crisp and you can taste the fryer oil was fresh and the gravy is homemade and tastesamazing, many other places would use a bag gravy but not Jack's. They're gravy is poured over the curd cheese and being pipinghot, melts the cheese right onto the french fries, who could ask for more than that? The eatery may be small but Read more

Use to have a good burger, French fries and a distinct gravy. Big changes recently the French fries look like the cheap frozen... sun spun brand the gravy taste different and not as good. the burger meat has hardly any flavour and not near as good as beforeI basically can taste just the lettuce I used to Recommend jacks burger shack but will no longer do so due to all theseterrible changes. Management needs to get priorities straight, save a few dollars and drive customers away or get back to whatmade jacks unique. Big disappointment! Not worth the $40 Read more

I honestly don't know how this place has such great reviews, took my wife and toddler there last night for something new,... extremely limited seating inside, and with an hour left to go till they closes they were already taking down the outdoor seatingin the patio area. The next thing, the bathroom was out of order and had to leave the establishment to go use the washroom inthere sandwich shack around the corner and down the street, HIGHLY inconvenient with a toddler. Now onto the food, keep inmind... for 2 adults and a toddler to eat with milkshakes was almost 80 dollars at this sub par fast food diner. I ordered aburger and fries for the little guy with cheese, which is extra, the burger then came with a half piece of kraft single stylecheese, not even covering the entire patty. If you're charging extra for cheese I expect it to cover the whole patty and more. The actual patties themselves were thin and quite flavorless, I think I have tasted cardboard with more flavor... the onlyflavor was in the actual sauce. The fries came unsalted and kind of soggy, and I got a side of gravy as well for my fries, andlet me tell you... I have never, EVER, had such tasteless gravy. The ONLY thing that was good was the milkshakes but even at theprices they charge you are far far far better just going to dairy queen for a milk shake. If you must try this place foryourself then go ahead, it is your right, however take a little drive and head down to Peter's Drive-in down on the south sideof Edmonton for Diner style food done they way it's supposed to be. This was no where near an $80.00 experience, I would stillfeel ripped off paying 50 bucks. Read more

Pretty solid smash burger place. The buns they use overpower the overall taste of the burger. We got the shroom and on the cob... burger. The poutine is very good here, just wish the cheese curds used were more squeaky. So would highly recommend adding oneto share! We finished with the dole whip which was solid. A bit pricey at 5 dollars each but definitely hits the spot if youare looking for a refreshing dessert. Read more

Good burger as I ordered the "Big Jack" with fries. The burger patties is seasoned perfectly with a nice caramelized crust. One... minor problem is that the bun disintegrates with all the other ingredients. There is fries in the burger too though not much ofit. Same with the jack sauce. However this burger is 100 times better than Burgerpriest's burger. The fries is okay as I feellike its missing something. Maybe the way it is prepared or cooked. The salt aloli is really good though as it was creamy andnot too salty. The milkshake I order was Darth Vader. I am not joking as that is the name of the drink. Darth Vader is coke andvanilla. This is really good milkshake. Probably the best I had so far. You have to buy burger, fries and beverageseparately. I would have given them 5 stars but I had to subtract one star because of bad customer service. Note I would havedock 2 stars but I am a bit generous so only 1 star is deducted. My friend had to wait 15-20 minutes for his milkshake and waterafter receiving his food and two other tables got their food. He even ask for when he will get his drinks. Employee said soon sohe still had to wait when it was 15 minutes before closing time on Wednesday. When the drink was supposedly ready, a femaleemployee slammed his drink on the table nor apologized for delay. Oh this gets worse the employee gave my friend the wrongorder. Then when they finally gave my friend the right milkshake... guess what the same employee did? She slammed the drinkagain and did not apologize. If you made a mistake own up to it and apologize then improve on it. Not slam the drinks as if itsour fault. Also why place the garbage bin the middle of the room close to the tables? Are you trying to smoke people out sothat they do not dine in? Read more
