Reviews for Goong Korean BBQ in Springville, UT
My new favorite KBBQ place! Went with my family tonight and was very happy with the food. We chose the Beef L combo, meant to... feed 3-4 people. The combos come with 10 side dishes, including oxtail soup and the choice between kimchi soup or black beansoup (we were told a la carte comes with 6 side dishes). It fed our entire group very well.\n\nThe meat isn\'t all you can eat,but the difference in quality offered really shows. The cuts were fantastic and we were told their meat is locally sourced andfresh. They bring the meats out one or two at a time, and you can cook your own (the bulgogi comes already cooked) or they cancook it for you at your table. This was a great dining experience with delicious food. Will totally be back. Read more
Love this place for all of the right reasons. I\'m not a Korean food expert, but I\'ve been to a number of Korean bbq places and... this one is my favorite. The chef/owner came out and helped us decide what to order. We cooked some of our food, then he cameand helped teach us different foods to put together. Also our waitress was awesome! Our son asked to have his birthday there inDecember.\n\nJust so it doesn\'t get lost, though everything about was positive, the reason this was my favorite Korean bbqplace is because it tasted the best. So good. Read more

Food was amazing. Chef was brilliant. Very good price. We brought our friend from Korea and he was very pleased with the... authenticity and flavors. The Ox Tail soup was a splendid surprise. We would come back again in a heart beat. Our favorite meatswere the spicy pork, beef kalbi, and pork belly. All the sides were amazing too. Read more
Wow. Absolutely incredible. If you like Korean BBQ and aren’t scared by a more authentic one with more authentic food (spicier... Kimchi, less American marinades, not all you can eat Korean BBQ where there are a million sides) then you should ABSOLUTELY tryGoong Korean BBQ in Springville. It’s not all you can eat so the quality is drastically higher, but obviously you pay for thatquality. So prices are higher compared to your average Korean BBQ restaurant.\n\nWe got a beef combo (which feeds 2-3 people)and everything was absolutely phenomenal. It came with tons of sides including Kimchi, a variety of pickled veggies, a kimchipancake, rice, and more. The beef was obviously the star. They started with a plate of bulgogi (already cooked) which wasabsolutely delicious. They then brought brisket and a ribeye steak which you could cook or they cook for you standing next toyour table. We thought that was a nice touch, and something you don\'t typically find at a Korean BBQ place due to the rush ofall you can eat. Finally they brought a large tender beef rib that was literally on fire which was fun, and they sliced it upfor you. All the beef was excellent.\n\nAfter all that the head chef/owner brought out a complimentary ox tail stew which is oneof the most incredible things I’ve ever eaten. Absurdly tender ox tail, the most amazing broth, and eaten over rice it wasabsolutely incredible. I could’ve eaten just that for my meal and been thrilled. I will literally be returning primarily toget more of that ox tail stew, it was that good. Then to finish it off the combo came with some mochi ice cream which is alwaysa hit.\n\nAll of this food I mentioned above was part of the small beef combo that cost around 90 dollars. More pricey than youraverage Korean BBQ place but also, in my opinion, substantially better and worth the price.\n\nThis is not a restaurant for kidsgenerally speaking. There’s no kids menu, and of course the flavors, unless your kids are used to this Read more
TLDR: This is excellent Korean food just off the freeway\n\nSo we came here for dinner with some friends. I had lived in Seoul... Korea for two years and have not been very impressed with the options I’ve found. Going into this with a bit of cynicism I cansay I am humbled for being so snooty.\nOur friends ordered the meat options you cook at the table. We ordered a Bulgogi bowl anda Bibimbap. Everything we ate was terrific. Mr. Kim is the owner and chef and was walking around checking on us and sharing hislove of cooking. He’s so passionate about his quality that he makes his Kimchi every other week and drives to southern Utahfor a specific type of beef for his dishes and the flavor comes through. If you like flavors beyond the Bulgogi and spicy youfind in the store you’ll love it here. The ox-tail soup has a silky broth from being boiled for 7 hours and the Kimchi Jiggae(soup) is awesome to eat if you have a cold like I did.\n\nIf you\'re on your way north or south and want an authentic andsavory meal I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. It is perfect for a date or a celebration. I’d be happy to havea lunch break here.\n\nThank you Mr. Kim. ? ????! Read more
I was in Gangnam, Korea last month and was transported back. Superb service just to start and then the food. Wow!!! All the... side dishes are made in house and are excellent. I loved the kimchi but my favorite was the pickled bean sprouts. Meats are alocally sourced. I had the Family Combo with my nephew and son and we had to take some home. So much superb food. We sat forabout 3 hours just loving every bite. Then they surprised us with all there ox tail stew which they said was cooked for 5 hoursand it was unbelievably tender and tasty. As authentic as could be in a place like Utah while light years ahead of other placesI have been in LA or New York. Better than places I ate at in Seoul. Highly recommended! Read more
