As always Della J's is on point. This is a family owned restaurant that brings many memories of home. We celebrated our... anniversary with friends - their 1st time. They absolutely loved it and promised to come back. We had blueberry waffles,chicken, steak, fried fish, greens and mac and cheese. Every thing was delicious!Much love to Jerry and Lydia, family and staff.Glad to come back to this wonderful place. J&J Had dinner there over the weekend. Still putting out great food. I found out about this place while driving for a delivery app. The smell of the food or these deliveries made me want to try it.... I went with my partner and this food was exactly what I was craving. This food taste home-cooked and is very fresh. I had thechicken strips mac & cheese and mashed potatoes and all were delicious. We also got the fried green tomatoes as a starter whichwas also excellent. My boyfriend got the fried chicken collard greens and mac & cheese and all his stuff was amazing as wellcooked to perfection. We share the peach cobbler with ice cream and it went to was just the most amazing thing we?ve evertasted. The collard greens melt in your mouth! The baby back ribs were tender and finger licking good. This is simply great home cooking... outside of your home. You can taste the love and attention that they put in preparation. The restuarant is welcoming with itsphotos of actual family members and other historical figures. I did not partake of the bar but it appeared to be fully stockedwith quality spirits. Great place for a first date or Family outing. Great food! Had a not so impressive experience previously but glad I took another chance to try out this restaurant. Attended a... small holiday dinner for the Northern Virginia NPHC (Divine 9) chapter. Had the fried pork chops with mac and cheese and greenbeans (vegetable of the day) as my sides. Was not too ashamed to drop the fork and eat the meat off the bone. That's how youknow it's good! I saw others trying the grilled pork chops and the chicken wings dinner which all looked delicious. I snuck somegreens from another plate to taste and it was delicious as well. Will be back to try the desserts. Oh and the rum punch was anice compliment while waiting for my food. Read more
This place is definitely worth a 5 star. First, I felt like family as soon as we walked in and was given a table. The server was... so friendly, entertaining and very hospitable, and the best part was the food. I had the fried catfish and fried shrimp with Macn cheese and coleslaw as my sides. The food here is AMAZING. The amount of takeouts they had kept coming in, which is a very good sign that they are great at what... they are known for. Everything is made in-house, so don't expect a fast food time kind of environment, which I love because thatmeans everything is fresh and not frozen. This spot is a hidden gem! Great food and amazing service. Despite being busy and understaffed this team worked great together... to make their customers happy! Our server was Danielle and she was super funny and nice! The chicken and waffles were amazing.The Mac and cheese balls were also really really good! Della J?s has consistently good, fresh, soul food at a reasonable price point. The portions are generous and I have never been... disappointed with anything I?ve tried on the menu. The staff is accommodating, whether you are ordering takeout or stopping in.I?ve gotten the catfish quite a few times. The Brussels sprouts are on point. The sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese are a mustif you?re feeling overwhelmed by the options.
