Reviews for Cesar's Old Mexico in Springfield, MO
Came around 7pm on a Thursday with my husband and there was about a 20 minute wait to get a table. Apparently that?s pretty... common and a good sign if they are always that busy no matter the day. We got margaritas from the bar and sat outside while wewaited. They were strong drinks - top shelf quality! It?s a very lively place and as others have mentioned it?s LOUD inside. It?s rather small with about 15 tables or so and bar seating. Once seated we practically had to yell at each other to hear. Thefact that the kitchen is right behind the bar I think contributes to the noise. We really enjoyed the chips and salsa! Salsa isspicier than any other Mexican restaurant?s we?ve tried. Queso was pretty good. The fajitas and chicken & rice were yummy!Portions are huge! We stuffed our bellies FULL and still brought home some! The host staff were friendly and our waiter wasawesome! He checked on us often enough and kept our drinks full. Despite the loudness, everything was great and we will returnagain! Read more
We read this was the best Mexican in Springfield and it did not disappoint! The chips and salsa were on the table when we sat... down. The salsa has a smokey flavor with just enough spice. It was delicious. Our food was out quickly and the server'srecommendation was really good. The only negative is that its very loud due to the number of tables in the space. We will beback next time we are wanting Mexican in Springfield! You're getting it right Cesar! Read more
This place is fantastic, and it showed in the wait time. Still we waited, and more people kept coming in after us. It was loud... and extremely busy. Ordered a margarita while doing so. My bestie and I went for a late lunch and at 2:45 on a Friday the place was packed. We sat in the bar in the best incognito spot... where we could watch all of the action. And action there was. As busy as they were on the line and grill they kept the areaSPOTLESS. They were constantly wiping and cleaning in between orders? We ordered margaritas. Hers frozen mango and mine rocksw/salt. Both were fantastic! So good I had to have one of each. Queso was really good. I?ll probably never complain aboutanyone?s ?drinkable cheese.? I mean- it?s hot liquid cheese. We split the seafood fajitas and they did not disappoint. Theflavor, the size of the shrimp, the fish and scallops and the veggies were ALL flavorful and so perfectly cooked. The viewsweren?t bad either. I cannot wait to take my husband! Read more
Basing this mainly on the quality of the food. I had a sampler plate which included a tamale a burrito and a chile relleno. It... was... alright. I've had much better Mexican food elsewhere. With that said the ambiance was great. I really like the verycolorful murals they've got everywhere. The server did get our order wrong and then charged us to fix it but it wasn't much. Read more

So much fun! The place was packed in a Friday night but they got us a table in roughly fifteen minutes. Food was very good, and... I highly recommend the queso! There was a mix up with our order but our waitress made it right. Definitely worth a trip! Read more
