Verucchi's is divine. We stumbled on this gem 4 years ago on our way to Indiana from Nebraska, so we planned to stop by on our... way home this time around. My dad looked forward to their calamari all day only learn they were out... but our hero of the day,Toni, secured us the last serving! The staff was friendly and accommodating and Toni, our server, was fabulous in every way. The steak I had was the most perfectly done steak I've had at a restaurant... perfectly rare with excellent flavor. My dad verymuch enjoyed his veal and the tiramasu was quite tasty as well. And the calamari! Not at all rubbery and perfectly batteredand seasoned... just an all around delight. I wish it wasn't 6 hours away. My dad agrees. :) Thank you for a delicious meal! Such delicious food and fantastic service. Took in laws and they are picky and very easily annoyed. They loved the food but... weren't pleased that despite our reservation, our party of 9 had to stand around in the (small) entryway for 20 minutes. Read more
Food was amazing but the waitress was not very friendly or timely. She mentioned a hand full of times she had a reservation... after us but was taking half an hour with an empty restaurant to bring us refills. Near the end this place did get pretty busybut the service before hand did not see acceptable. Again though the food was really great Read more
Even with a reservation, our party had to wait about a half hour to be seated, but they were quite full and we had a large... party. All the food was delicious, and the service was great. There's a reason this place fills up on a weeknight! Read more

Verucchis was fantastic, as always. Was here for a rehearsal dinner. The baked chicken was juicy and delicious. Fried chicken... was perfectly crunchy and scrumptious. Scalloped potatoes, green beans, tortellini and sauce were tasty. Always look forwardto eating here. Read more
This is old school Italian food done right. Be warned either make a reservation or be prepared to wait but know it is well worth... it. The service was top notch; friendly, attentive and made sure we felt really welcome. The food was off the charts. I hadMama's pasta and it was some of the best I've had in a while. To make it all better the prices are really reasonable both forfood and drinks. Can't say enough good stuff about this place! Read more
Had a great dinner after a day at Starved Rock State Park. The restaurant was highly recommended by somone from the area and it... didn't disappoint. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered 3 appetizers and all were hot and delicious. We weretold to try the Italian fried chicken and it was very good, as was the chucken Picatta and Veal Marsala. We've been to a numberif Italian restaurants in the St. Louis and Chicago areas, and this was amongst the very best. The bill came to less than $200,which was cheap considering 3 apps, 4 entrees and 8 cocktails. Read more
