The grandkids like this place for the foosball but the table was broken tonight. This location in Cool Springs was their choice.... We sat in the semi-outdoor area; the whole place has a bright, colorful vibe where kids can cut up and be messy. We had thewings, BBQ baked potatoes, smoked turkey dinner, Brunswick stew, grilled cheese sandwich, French fries, green beans andbroccoli. Everyone else liked their food. The BBQ baked potatoes were surprisingly really good! I didn?t like the sound of itbut the bite I had was crisp potato skin and caramelized pulled pork, like maybe they broiled it after putting the pork onit. The Brunswick stew was watery and a bit sweet like they stirred in some bbq sauce. It wasn?t my favorite although the girlat the register said a lot of people order it. For $3.95 I didn?t think the half-cup portion I got was worth it. I liked mygreen beans. The plastic squeeze bottle of Martins sauce on the table was mostly sweet vinegar laced with flecks of what Ifigured were red pepper flakes. One of us requested the Alabama sauce which was spicy and a pale whitish pink. I dipped my friesin it. My favorite bbq joint is still Rob?s BBQ in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Read more

Friendly folks and great food! I had the Kid Brother platter, and that?s about all my Yankee belly could hold. Pulled pork and... brisket were both moist. Mac ?n? cheese and hoecakes were delicious. Didn?t really like having to go up to the bar for refills, butter, or a different style of BBQ sauce, but all those things are available if you ask. Read more

Smoke wafted into the black night sky as we passed the pit room visible at the entrance, which I thought was a cool design... feature. I'd have liked to get some better photos of the outside, but it was dark... and cold. They claim that West Tennesseewhole-hog barbecue tradition is the cornerstone of their operation, and that everything they serve is made from scratch.Naturally, I had to try the pork shoulder sandwich. I had read some good reviews on their smoked wings, so we got an order ofthose to split as well. For my sandwich side, I chose an unconventional option of broccoli salad. The sandwich was served witha thin tomato-vinegar sauce and slaw on top. I pulled a few pieces of pork out to sample alone, and they were fantastic. Thejuicy pork held an unmistakable hint of wood smoke- excellent on it's own but not strong enough to stand out on the sandwich. Itwas a great sandwich, but I would probably order the pork on it's own next time. The wings were good and had a great sauce, butnot enough smoke in my opinion. Maybe my expectations were too high based on other reviews, but I would probably skip these nexttime- especially since it's so easy to make them how I like them at home. The broccoli salad was a great accompaniment to themeats. It was obviously homemade and was a good choice- and now I want to try the other sides. I'm sure I will return when I'min the area again, and I'm already looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. So it's not an authentic old-time traditionspot, but this is about as good as chain bbq gets. Definitely worth a stop. Read more
