My friend wanted to take me out for brunch and picked this place. I really didn?t have much expectations just wanted to... experience a new place. I tried to order 3 separate dishes and they didn?t have anything (seafood based) so I settled for the Almond Style French Toast and some King Bacon. It was okay. I can?t really complain but I wasn?t completely thrilled with it. Myfriend ordered chicken and fries and I think they felt the same way.. by that point they were just hungry and wanted to eat. Solid 3. Food was okay, but very distinct flavors and not exactly complimentary of each other. The grits were cooked well. I'm... not a huge fan of blueberry and they really do seem to use it for everything, even when it's not disclosed in the menudescription. Service and atmosphere were alright. We came here on our lunch break. Small hole in the wall feel. Waitress was very kind and welcoming. We were probably given a... little too much time to look over the menu. First time eating Chicken and Waffles, and it was delicious! The waffle has jalapeños in it, the chicken was well cooked and... the hot sauce was the perfect topping.The Vanilla Amaretto French toast was good, you have to try their Blue Jam pork with it,service was great. I got the Florentine Benedict w/ Breakfast Potatoes (pictured) & my husband got the Biscuits & Sausage Gravy w/ Hash Browns. Hate to complain or ask for a manager so we give a bad review for the public and the establishment to know. We'll pay the bill... and tip because it's not the servers fault. This was our first time here and probably our last. First impressions says alot. My pregnant wife was craving some shrimp and grits while my son wanted some French Toast. What better than a brunch spotclose to home. We were received well and seated. Tables and menus were sticky and their A/C seemed to not be working right byour table. We ordered and the food didn't take long. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with special house Blu pork sausagepatties. This sausage was as tough as beef jerky. Dry. The potatoe wedges that came with the plate were extremely dry andovercooked. Had to let hot sauce and their ice cold ketchup soak into the wedges to somewhat try to enjoy them. My kids neverrefuse hashbrowns. They ate their French toast but their sides of hashbrowns were way overcooked, extremely seasoned, andgritty. I hate wasting food but couldn't let my kids eat this. My wife's shrimp and grits just didn't hit the spot. Wasn'tterrible but we have had better. But when her stomach started hurting on the way home it says something. Extremelydisappointed. We were so excited to eat here, because it was something new. They gave us a free cinnamon roll when we were leaving with our... to-go order and knew for a fact that the food would be great. Quickly we noticed that half of our order was missing. Went backin to get the rest and it took them about 20 minutes to give us pancakes and grits. Once we got home and started eating thebiscuit was bland, sausage half cooked and the pancakes were so dry they crumbled. Maybe they were having a rough day but Ipersonally would not go back.
