Sports bar that looks a bit like a castle built into a strip mall. The inside is tables, a bar, and lots of TVs! The... good: Those in my party were impressed with the house side salad and the tacos (chips on the side, but no salsa?). Portions weregood. The gorgonzola fries were a highlight of the whole thing. The others I was with said the food was better than Poole's. Ithink some was, but I'd prefer the Poole's burger if we are just comparing burgers. The bad: One of our chairs was very wobbly.No big problem, we got a different chair. Drink was refilled with regular water instead of sparkling water (asked and theyfixed it). They were out of the french dip and the Reuben. Sadly out of three of us, those were two of the entrees wewanted. The cook "forgot to drop our appetizer" so it came out 10 mins after the rest of our food. Luckily they compedit. Salads came out with the meal instead of before the meal as is traditional. So cold main dish or warm salad? We were therenearly 50 mins before any food hit our table. And they weren't all that busy. The big kahuna burger was kinda meh. The burgeritself was not very flavorful. The rest of the burger was what you expect. The patty itself needs to be better for a sports barwhose food menu thrives on the burger being good. Probably would go somewhere else next time I go out. Just too many negativesoutweighing the positives. So often you go out and everything is just as expected. Drinks were great. Food was good. Service slow but our server was amazing. Totally disappointed the owner sat by and watched as... the skeleton crew struggled with a huge crowd and a party the staff were not warned about, while they sat drinking with friends.Was not impressed by that, but the staff actually working did their best. Best Cheese Steak I have ever had! And their fries! Our visit was just after their opening during covid-19. They were awesome at... making sure everything was sanitized after customers. And social distancing measures were put in place. Awesome job. Read more
Friendly staff, good pub food, and great tvs for watching a big game make Birdy's a favorite northside sports bar. Lots of buddy... bar seating help everyone have a good tv view and tons of free parking is convenient. The far north location makes it a littledifficult to round up a group from all over town.
