We have been 3 times recently and every-time the food is so fresh and good. It?s truly a home cooked meal. We had the best... waiter when we came in Friday. The most polite young man (Malichi). Really good food. Owner is present and works hard to make you feel welcome. Service was a little slow, we waited a little longer... than I thought was necessary for our order to be taken. But like everywhere else, staff is either hard to keep or over worked.My husband said his chicken was delicious, about the best he's had. Served with peas which he won't touch. We loved to eat at the Gateway Cafe and we were so sad when it was destroyed by fire. We are very happy that they rebuilt and... they are back better than ever. My husband thinks their fish is the best he has ever had. My go-to meal is their chicken friedsteak. Tabitha is our favorite waitress and she tends to us like we are the only ones there even though every table is full. Great food, great service, great everything! Read more
We had dinner with some dear friends who had recommended Gateway Cafe. My guy loves catfish and said of all the places we've... been, Gateway had the best. If it doesn't need tartar sauce or any other condiments, it's excellent fish! Their portions areabsolutely perfect, and it was clear that my fried potatoes were hand cut, my chicken fried chicken was hand breaded & the gravywas homemade. The food is amazing! Their staff is incredibly courteous & sociable! And everything is perfectly priced for thedelicious meals they serve! We'll definitely be returning! Read more
This was a delightful experience! I understand that they just recently opened after rebuilding because of a fire. They have a... nice menu. Fair prices and good portions. Everything that everybody ate was declared to be delicious. I have maple glazedchicken with bacon and cheese with mashed potatoes and corn and salad. The rolls are fresh and all of the food was good. One ofmy friends had a hamburger and another had meatloaf, which they enjoyed. The desserts are fresh made on the spot and so good!One of my friends and I each had apple pie and the other had pecan pie. He said the pecan pie was good and not too sweet, whichis hard to find with pecan pies that are usually sickly sweet. The only thing I could say is they could serve a little more icecream with their pie, but the flavors were wonderful. My apple pie had cinnamon in the Apple mixture and in the top crust!Quite delightful. I came in with a guide dog, and our server was even kind enough to wrap up a piece of bacon and give me it sothat I could hand it off to her later. She got it in the car and we both say a huge thank you to Rylee for great I definitelyhope to go back there. They also have a little shop with local honeys and handmade jams and other items. I didn't stop in therebut my friend said she found many things that she felt looked wonderful. #accessibilityreview I can't tell you anything aboutthe bathrooms, as I never used one. There is handicap accessible parking. There is also a little ramp so that you could avoidthe curb. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for my guide dog. If you love good home cooked food this is the place for you. I?ve eaten there three times in the last month and everything has... been wonderful! The food, the service and the staff are top notch.
