We discovered this absolutely wonderful restaurant yesterday and now it will be our go to when we visit Spartanburg. The food... was amazing, fresh and did not have the typical salty, greasy, wet tastes associated with some lower end Thai restaurants. Allthe dishes we ordered were so yummy. The Lake Fried Rice, Siam Salmon and fresh spring rolls were all SO good! The owners Lakeand Joe are so passionate about their establishment. They took the time to educate us on their authentic Thai food, how it isprepared and what meals would work best for people with specific requirements such as being vegan or needing gluten free dishes. Being somewhat Thai food snobs, we very much appreciated the personal dining experience that they brought to us. Thank youLake and Joe! Read more

This is the best Thai food you?ll find in these parts. We ordered the shrimp pad thai, satay chicken, and the veggie spring... rolls. Honestly, the peanut sauce alone is to die for. The owners were so friendly and kind, we had such a great time talking tothem. Please give TeaStar Thai Cafe a try and tell your friends! You won?t regret it. Read more

I've eaten at many Thai restaurants, and this is one of the best I've ever been to, including in Thailand. The flavors are clean... and perfectly seasoned, the vegetables were cooked to just the right point, not undercooked, not mushy. Everything i had wasincredibly satisfying, and i would definitely return again. The only thing I'd note is the spice level. Historically, i likethings very spicy, and i always used to order Thai spicy. However, i recently ate at an excellent Thai restaurant in Houstonwhere that failed me: Thai spicy was too spicy.... Wary of that recent experience, i asked whether spice level 3 was that spicy, and assured that it was, i opted for 2.5. it was delicious, but not especially spicy. So if you like spice, go for level 3. Not the restaurant's fault, just a problem with how varied people's definitions of "spicy" are. Read more

I tried TeaStar for the first time yesterday and thought it was great. The fresh rolls were uniquely rolled in a cone shape and... quite tasty with the peanut sauce. I had the spicy dumplings for my main meal ( 2.5 of 3 stars) and found them very flavorful. My guest got the red curry with fried tofu and told me it was equally good. For dessert I ordered the lava cake with ice creamand it as wonderful as well. The waitstaff was very helpful and had lots of useful suggestions. If you have not tried thisplace, you are in for a treat. Read more

Like Chang from the Blue Elephant told Gordon Ramsay, ?Pad Thai have to be sweet, sour, and salty.? Unlike most of the other... ?Pad Thai? in downtown Spartanburg, this hit all three checkboxes. The peanuts were freshly roasted, the noodles didn?t sticktogether, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. There was a lot of care put into the details of this dish and it shows. Can?t wait to try some more of their food in the future! Read more

Excellent Thai food, and nice service. I highly recommend trying the hibiscus tea. The outdoor dining area is very relaxing.
