Reviews for Kanpai of Tokyo in Spartanburg, SC
Expensive but giant portions, and outstanding quality. Great food. Great experience.
Food and service were really good. Prices are slightly up, and portion size slightly down, but still an enjoyable time. ... Updates and repairs are sorely needed at the grills, but the lobby looks better now Read more
They don't give you your full meal with to-go orders. You do not get a soup and salad with hibachi even though it says right... there on the menu that it comes with a soup and salad. (I was told I could buy it separately at full price if I wanted.) I'mnot talking about a mistake being made. I was told that this is their policy. The employee was friendly and agreed that it wasa weird policy that doesn't make any sense. Read more
Food tasted great and we were given generous portions. On the downside, service was slow today on our Sunday lunch visit. Our... sushi and egg roll appetizer came out after chef was cooking our main entree. Restaurant dining room and bathrooms were not asclean as I expected. I will give them another try but not for a special family celebration like we had today. Read more
This was our first time coming here to Kanpai of Tokyo. I have always loved watching my food being cooked in front of us. We... went on a date here but will definitely be returning. Its a nice, very friendly and clean restaurant. You get plenty of food foryour money and they cook it how you want it. They do the usual egg toss tricks and all. I recommend you giving them a chance tocook for you! The steak and scallops were so good and the food overall was definitely worth it. Two very small complaints andnothing big the miso soup was very salty and unique having big noodles in it, kinda reminded me of chicken noodle soup. And thefire, the fire was huge and cinched a few of my eye brow hairs. So maybe little less for next time would be great. Read more

We went to Kan Pai last night. The restaurant seemed dirty, very Smokey, the bathroom was out of toilet paper, and our chef was... gross! The chef was wearing a mask and he kept touching his mask and wiping his mask while he was cooking and had the cookingutensils in his hand while touching his mask. He also sweating a lot. I was wondering if he was sick. At one point he put atowel over his face and pulled his mask down and wiped his entire face with the towel and then put the towel back on the cartwith the food on it. This was completely disgusting! Read more
