Although understaffed like everywhere, this family owned restaurant is determined to make every visit the best yet. Their... breakfast looks great, but I just can't go in and not order one of their Greek meals. The rice is flavorful, the meat melts inyour mouth. The pits bread is always fresh. Excellent Gyro plate. Served fresh, abundant. The only negative is for service. Our server did the best she could, but we had to... wait quite a while to pay at the register. The owner walked by and said our server would be with us soon. A woman who I assumewas his wife did the same, and walked away. If you have time to explain the wait, you have time to complete the transaction, notmake the customer wait. The owner finally came by a second time and took our money. He was polite and chatted with us, however,the service should be prompt and his busy server needs help. Read more
On our way to Nashville, we spent the night in Sparta, Tennessee and had an enjoyable dinner at Achilles Greek Grill. It is run... by a very nice greek family. This is a solid restaurant. The place was clean. The food was good. The prices were very reasonable. It wasn't great, but it was... definitely good. I'll go again, and if you're looking for something different, go try them out. The menu is huge and hassomething for everyone from hamburgers and pizza to gyros and dolmades, plus breakfasts and a food bar. We tried the gyroplatter and the chicken platter and both were tasty. So I finally decided to do this review after my 3rd experience with them. In all honesty the food is decent. It?s not bad. Not... great, but not bad at all. I would give it a 3.5. The fries are very solid. The falafel has been hit or miss. The first time Itried it it was pretty good. Second time was bad and this time it was average. They give you a pretty straight forward falafelso don?t expect anything crazy. I have requested hummus on my falafel sandwich every time and each time they tell me I have toorder a side of hummus and put it on my self. Even if they just had a small up charge to put some hummus on the sandwich I wouldhappily pay it. It?s a place that I see myself occasionally popping by. The prices are fair.
