Ordered apps and drinks , waited 14 mins for a mediocre "craft coctail" and a beer. Was then offered bread. Mediocre rolls. ... Apps came and were all quite good. Entrees came and were very well cooked. Nice serving size. Good food but not the service wewere expecting. The bar service was most disappointing. We made a reservation for our son's graduation dinner not only to celebrate his accomplishment, but to try out the food before... deciding if the location and food would be considered for his upcoming nuptial's rehearsal dinner. They nailed it! Ourreservation was for 5:30p and we were done with desert and paid our bill by 7pm. We were seated promptly and the courses wereserved within reasonable time. Service was excellent. Patricia, our server, was very helpful, efficient and professional. Themenu choices included selections for our vegan, picky, and meat & potato lovers. The food was fresh and every plate was great.We decided right then and there to talk to the manager and make arrangements to hold the rehearsal dinner for 30 people at thisrustic venue. I would absolutely recommend 1850 House in Southbury. Once again they nailed it!!! We had the rehearsal dinnerat 1850 House in October. The upstairs private room was set up for 37 guests. The charcuterie and appetizer were plentiful,delicious, and displayed beautifully. The pre-selected entrees were abundant. The guest were so impressed with the meal andexceptional service. The Lobster tail entree was actually a whole lobster to our surprise. Brendon and his staff were soattentive to our needs. We will definitely celebrate our next event here. Read more
Mediocre at best. Every dish lacked seasoning, from chicken quesadillas to soup to chicken pot pie, which was was so soupy you... couldn?t eat it with a fork. Presentation on entrees was less than appealing. Waitstaff was very pleasant but didn?t really knowwhat was going on. Disappointing experience. Read more
I held my daughters bridal show @ restaurant today. The food was good and the staff took great care of us. Beautiful view... overlooking the golf course and we had the 1st floor restaurant area to ourselves. Great place for events! Read more

Really not sure how this place got such good reviews. Granted we came on a Sunday evening (6:15), but the food basically came... straight off the Sysco truck. Our gyoza came stone cold, clam chowder was almost too salty to eat, and the bacon on the wedgesalad came from a container. The burger patty was previously frozen (machine formed) and not an ounce of juice in it. The chef?s?special sauce? was thousand island from a jar. This place is a joke!!! Read more
I saw the previous review and decided to give the place a try because I don't base my decisions on 1 bad review. Place was empty... except for 1 other couple on the patio and a few people in the bar. The good: We were seated & brought water quickly and shouldhave left after the water was spilled on the table by the hostess, who immediately apologized, but we laughed it off, no bigdeal. Our waitress came over and took our order. Our drinks and appetizer came out, all good. The Bad: Then no waitress for over30 minutes. When she finally came back she said "can I get you anything else or would you like your check"? My husband said "ourfood". She said nothing, turned around and left. Another waitress came out 20 minutes later with my husbands sandwich and mysalad. Our waitress never returned until we were finished eating so my husband didn't get another drink with his meal and theice cubes in my drink had melted completely. The lack of concern, no "Sorry" or "Let me go check", from the waitress onforgetting our meals and not following up after us getting our meals is the basis for the bad review. Absolutely dreadful. The crab cakes were frozen or canned. Shame on you. No seasoning pasty! The calamari was horrible. Cold.... Batter falling off. They clearly microwaved it. Shame on you again. My partners salmon was over cooked and flavorless. Myveggies were microwaved and soggy. My mashed potatoes were flavorless. The prime rib was good and the drinks were food. Thisplace needs to be shut down there are so many good choices in Southbury. THIS IS NOT ONE. DONT GO THERE. This is nursing home/hospital food at best. Just dreadful. Microwave your own food.
