Reviews for Hula Hoops Restaurant & Tiki Bar in South San Francisco, CA
Took my family and friends here to celebrate mom's birthday. Hula Hoops is a Hawaiian/Tiki/Filipino joint serving up solid... Filipino-based dishes, wonderful cocktails in tiki mugs, and ice cold San Mig Light. The service could be spotty at times butthe staff's friendliness more than makes up for this. Plus, if you're lucky enough, you get to enjoy a magic show! Read more
I love this place! It's so non-descript because it's in a standard strip mall. Once you enter, however, you're transported to... Tiki Heaven! The decor is over the top, which is perfect. The food and drinks are delicious. They love their ube, and I highlyrecommend the ube martini, ube pina colada, and the ube toast (if you're there for brunch). They have scorpion bowls that aregood for four people, and a zombie that they cap off at two drinks per person. We had a large party so we ordered the sisignachos, kahlua pork nachos, spicy spam bites (my favorite), spam musubi, longanisa burger, and more! Everything was satisfyingand delicious. I would suggest making reservations because it can get really busy. They are very accommodating, and they dohave a private room that can fit up to eight. Read more
A busy night but we got in! Very chill vibe! Love the idea of live music! Food is terrific! Gotta go check em! Check hours!
Delicious food. We also ordered coffee and was told that it’s really good but it turned out to be just coffee with syrup.... Overall good place to eat whenever you miss Hawaii. Read more
What an amazing tiki bar with Hawaiian and Filipino inspired food! Drinks and food are absolutely delicious. I highly... recommend a Zombie if your looking for something stiff. The loco moco was one of the best I’ve had! Staff is welcoming andfriendly and Maria was a great bartender, really enjoyed talking to her at the bar! Read more
Great, great tiki lounge! Great service, fantastic food, and drink variety. The tikis are fun but just a tad overpriced. ... Inside and outside areas, heat lamps outside, staff wears their masks, and all around great place in daly city. We werelucky and caught live music. The only downside is they were understaffed tonight BUT considering.... still not gonna be mean. Iknow this place is a 5 star joint Will definitely be back again! Read more
The food is absolutely incredible, especially the spam dishes. I eat out a lot and this is the best food I've had in almost a... year. The cocktails could use a few small tweaks but are still far beyond Bay Area standards. The decor is pretty cool but Iwish the entire interior looked like the special tiki room at the back of the place. Make reservations ahead of time. I willdefinitely go here again, wow. Read more
Finally decided to try out this brunch spot because it’s right by my house, and the lines are always so long. I do feel bad... for giving such a lowly rated review, but I just didn’t have the best experience eating here. The wait for two people wasclose to 15 minutes, which is not bad for a Saturday at 12pm. However, the food…the kitchen took nearly 45 minutes to prepareour food. I understand there were lots of tables and lots of hungry people waiting for their food, but the wait for food at arestaurant should never be more than 25 minutes. The wait felt even longer because the servers never stopped once to ask how wewere doing or filled our EMPTY water glasses. Seriously, that was the least the servers could do if they knew the food was goingto take so long. Definitely, if you don’t have more than 3 hours to spare for brunch, I would recommend going somewhereelse. The two stars are definitely just for the food and it’s portions. The food is pretty good, but nothingspectacular/particularly unique. It was good food, but just not sure if it’s worth a 45 minute wait. Despite giving thisplace such a bad review, I would consider coming back to do bottomless/get some cocktails and just chill with some homies. Theambiance is a great place to relax and vibe to some live, or not, music. Read more
