Delicious, well-priced bagels with the most amazing, helpful staff! A gem for our trip
Mr.Bagel is always good regardless of location. However, it?s the service of the employees that really makes the difference.... These employees were unprofessional, they didn?t know how their sandwiches were made and what was on them, couldn?t provide mewith an updated list of bagels they had left, and were unbothered by how long of a wait there was. I feel like they all neededan refresh on training on sandwiches and a little bit on customer service skills. Very unprofessional. I come in here once or twice during the week for a coffee and bagel. Service is well paced, meaning you don't have to wait too... long if there aren't so many other customers, but you'll wait a little longer when there are. Absolutely love their sausage, egg and cheese on English muffins. And they always cut it in half which is nice too. I've always... had 100% friendly interactions with the employees and customers. Everyone is always so polite. They changed the inside around alittle bit and now it looks way bigger inside and the walls are filled with amazing art. I will always go here for my breakfastneeds, even when the line is out the door. I'm a customer for life. Read more
I love this Mr. Bagel for what it is. Are they the fanciest bagels in Maine? No. But they're great bagels with great cream... cheese and literally half the price vs. the tourist bagels in Portland. They also have some good sandwiches (bagel andotherwise) that are affordable. The staff work their butts off as well. If it's taking a while, ask yourself, is anyone sittingbehind the counter on their phone? No, they're just working as fast as they can. I've been in several times recently and some ofthe customers were so rude when the three ladies were doing their best to keep up with busy mornings. Don?t order online- they will make the order immediately so by the time you arrive an hour later (as scheduled) it?s cold and... has been sitting on a table in the front of the doorway for an hour. They never follow instructions (toasted-it?s never toasted)and they will charge you $3.00 for 4 ounces of cream cheese where they will only fill the container 1/2 which isn?t even enoughfor one bagel and they will also leave the cream cheese sitting in a bag for an hour in the doorway instead of refrigerating it.Please don?t take this lightly, all in the food service industries are struggling, however, if you?re not taking care of theclients who are frequenting your store how will you ultimately survive? As an aside, the store was not busy at all so none ofthis was due to the fact that they were overwhelmed. Read more

I've eaten breakfast here twice during my stay in Portland and it's been delightful. Being that i am a native New Yorker, I am... very critical of bagels. This gets a solid 8/10 compared to New York bagels, which is a huge compliment! Usually anythingoutside of New York isn't worth trying but I had great breakfasts here! The service was fast and the bagels tasted good! Abetter quality sausage would really have made this better but it's good! The bagel itself was great but lacked the nice chewyinside and crunchy outside of a 10/10 bagel, but I would 100% eat here again! I definitely reccomend them! Read more
