The food here is really good the rice and beans and the jerk chicken are delicious! This is a newly opened mom and pop... restaurant so keep that in mind when you go there. Placed an order on GrubHub, the driver arrived to pick it up and was told it would be an additional 30 minutes wait. Seems like... they hadn't even started the order at that point. Food was terrible, never ordering here again Read more
I love Jamaican food, and I have to say Caribbean tastes as up there among the best. I love the oxtails with peas and rice, and... the Curry Goat, just so amazing. If you have never had oxtail, or are scared of food you aren't used to, just try it, it isbeef and when cooked right it melts in your mouth it is so tender, also don't be afraid to suck the marrow and sauce from thebone, and that chewy connective tissue is absolutely amazing, get your fingers messy it is 100% worth it. Couple this amazingfood with some of the nicest people ever, and you have why Caribbean Taste is among the best places to eat in South Portland.Like getting food cooked by your mom (if your mom was Jamaican), it feels like being at home and eating with family. I know Oxdale is expensive but three pieces of small meat for $10 and I ordered a small soup it has no flavor the veggies wasn?t... cooked properly it was just watery I could?ve cook a better chicken foot soup than this, Not to mention the oxtail I could havedone a better job cooking to ox it was horrible like no taste, I?m here working in Maine and was so excited to finally see aCaribbean restaurant but what a disappointment. I honestly really wanted to enjoy this place. I was sadly disappointed. Food was mediocre at best. Jerk chicken was not even... served hot. It was like it has just been sitting on the counter for quite some time. My meal with ox tail was basically ricewith bones and gravy. Will not be returning To this establishment. Read more
Don?t waste your money. This place is a ripoff and over priced? curry goat is too salty and there was barely goat meat in the... food and they charge charge $21.60 for this piece of Trash. Please don?t waste your money going there. Read more
