We are tourists looking for a good lunch and popped into here 10 minutes before closing. Yeah we are those folks. But we did... ask if it was okay and they welcomed us right in and sat us. No lunch on Sundays so breakfast only, I got the biscuits and gravywith fries and eggs and my wife got the banana foster waffle and we shared. It was the perfect combo for the two of us. The Frog Pond is a nice little restaurant on Saint Pete Beach. Great breakfast offerings but there will be a wait so call ahead.... Food was delicious but not outstanding, more along the lines of decent tourist breakfast food. A must visit if you're staying inthe area and looking for breakfast or lunch. We liked it a lot! We?ve been wanting to try The Frog Pond for a few years. We stopped by for breakfast on our way to the Sarasota airport. I tried... the 3 Cheese Quiche special of the day. It was very fluffy but lacking flavor, the cheese overpowered the quiche. The potatoeswere burned, most were not edible. The stack of pancakes, we?re overwhelming and not so tasty either. Eggs, were eggs. The kidsFrench toast was average. The Cinnamon French Toast was GOOD, according to my 19yr old. The restaurant was clean, if you lovefrogs? this is your place. Cute place with fun frog theme. Had to wait about 10 minutes but it was prime breakfast time. Always had the option for coffee... refills and the coffee has a nice strong taste. I got the banana foster waffles and they had a nice sweet waffle base thatpaired well with the walnuts and syrup. Sweet breakfast but great flavor. The fruit blintz was really good. The down side wasordered the meat lovers omelet and found some mushrooms and egg shells in it? both don?t come in it. But the waitress was quickto ask if needed it fixed. So many photos over the years that I could find! Never a bad experience, never a bad meal and never a bad price for you get! The... owners are amazing! Always when we've gone one of them (I can't remember) greets you with a big smile and always asks howeverything is and what did you get and how do you like it! He's wonderful! Also there is another gentleman who I believe is theco owner who does the same. They remember you! It was my Dads favorite restaurant on the beach. We still always go there as afamily. We've been going for almost a decade! Highly recommend! They'll always make sure you have a full fresh cup of coffee!!! Read more
Absolutely fantastic breakfast. We ate here a few years ago and it was great. I was a little worried this time because they were... clearly understaffed (as is everyone), but we only waited 10 minutes to get a table and the food and service was awesome.
