We had the pleasure of dining at 1200 Chophouse last week for dinner. This is a small establishment. The line to get in starts... before they open at 5:00. We were the cut off to eat inside so we opted to sit on the deck so that we didn?t have to wait anylonger. The service was great. The power went out briefly during our visit and the staff handled it well and quickly got thingsup and running. We had the filet skewers for start and they were wonderful. The salad served with our meal was fantastic! I washesitant initially but so glad that I went with it!! I had the two filets topped with crab and shrimp and my Husband had a steakas well. The reason for 4 stars is that they were both overcooked but with the power going out we gave them grace. Overall wewere happy and will return again when in St. Pete! Read more
It is small and tight inside but it is well worth the time to eat here. Appears to be wine and beer only bit the food was... spectacular! Ordered the filet and wife ordered Surf and Turf. Both steaks were cooked perfectly and the lobster tail was alsoamazing. I recommend Medium Rare on the filet. My only criticism is that the pepper seasoning was a bit strong on the steaksso you might ask them to go light on that if you do want a really strong pepper taste on your steak... Great quality steak cooked to perfection and doesn't need anything else, melts in your mouth. My husband loved his surf and turf... as well - says it's the best steak he's ever had! We had bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer and finished off with theirflourless cake - every single thing we had was perfect! Portions were just right - not overwhelming, yet very filling. Theservice was great as well. I don't think I can go back to a regular steakhouse now. Would 100% recommend, the price is wellworth the quality. Read more
If I could give this place more stars for food I would!! The steaks were cooked to perfection. The tomahawk ribeye was EXCELLENT... and done to a perfect medium well. The house salad to start was tasty and it was finished with a house dressing that wasdelicious...no cheap ranch or itialian dressings here!! Filet was also cooked to a perfect medium rare. Just when we thought wecould not eat anymore we had to try the flourless chocolate cake. It was a perfect size to share and end the meal with. Staffwas professional and more on the serious side. OMG! The steak is amazing here. My family of six tried to get in a few times with no luck. It is first come, first served, so... plan for patio drinks while waiting. The steak melts like butter. The bread is fantastic. We had a great meal and the pricewas very competitive especially when contrasting the quality and quantity. I can?t think of one thing I would change. We askedfor to go boxes we were so full. We rarely do that but we?d leave not one crumb behind, that is how good it was for us. Read more
A gem! Perhaps one of the very best steakhouses in Pinellas County. Make reservations if you are going on the weekend or... during the tourist season as the place is small. Wonderful food! Beer and wine only. Read more
