Very yummy American Style vegan food. Black owned business! Kind of pricey, expect to spend about $20 per person for food and... drinks, but that's nothing new for most vegan places. Based on the great reviews I decided to try Michezo for the first time this evening. The vegan crab cakes, mac and broccoli... were AMAZING!!! I couldn?t even take a pic of my daughters chicken taquitos because she dove in head first. I was disappointedthat they were out of the NY cheesecake but I did place my order pretty late in the day so we had the chocolate chip cookies andbrownie. My friend and I were in the area & came here decided to try a nearby vegan spot. We found Michezo & had such an amazing... experience, we kept raving about it later in the day. The vibes are immaculate-from the chef, to the music, to the entire diningexperience, really. I got the ?chicken? taquitos, and they were BOMB. The fries and broccoli that they come with were reallytasty, and I also got the lemonade, which was super refreshing and just the right amount of sweet. The portions are also prettydecent in size. I was visiting the area and found this beautiful spot nearby. Food is OUTSTANDING! I ordered what I saw most in the reviews... which were the crab cakes and the passion fruit lemonade. The lemonade comes in a glass bottle which is best for your health.Who else does that?!? I?ll be back when I visit again. ???????????????? Read more
I stumbled upon this restaurant while driving, I noticed these beautiful leather chairs outside that caught my eyes ????. And... what do you know, the meal I ordered was just as beautifully tasting, as well as pleasing to look at. The flavors were sodelicious! And if you're wondering, I ordered the crab cakes. This place is absolutely wonderful! My husband and I were greeted by a lovely hostess. Even the chef came out and said "hello'... to us. Very friendly, upbeat vibe. They were also playing a nice Bob Marley CD. The place is cafe style, but it's alsospacious. We both ordered the vegan crab cakes. They were phenomenal! On the side there was a vegan mac 'n' cheese andbroccoli, which I loved too. The broccoli was done - perfect! I usually don't like having broccoli at a restaurant because theyover cook it, but not here! Cooked from scratch, everything was so fresh. And there was so much I couldn't finish. If you splitthe meal in half, you could have enough for another meal the next day. I was so curious about the desserts, but I wasstuffed. My husband and I will definitely come back. It's so nice to finally have found a vegan restaurant in the North/CentralJersey area. Seems most of them are up in Bergen County or down the shore. So, this little gem is much appreciated! Read more
Where do I even start. I was blown away by how delicious this food tastes. I couldn?t believe it was vegan. My experience at... other vegan restaurants have been subpar but this right here. Wow ! Good, but not great. If I were in the area I would return as I think overall it?s a solid establishment, just had high... expectations from the glowing reviews. Service was A+, checked on us frequently and communicated well. The interior is clean andbeautiful; you could tell there was a lot of intention about the design and aesthetics. Food took a while to come out, but whenit did it was hot and fresh. A good portion for the price and came in a takeout container; I appreciate the eco-friendlyapproach because I ended up having plenty leftover. I was expecting the food to wow me more than it did (we got the taquitos,black bean burger, garlic Mac, fries, broccoli). The broccoli and fries were average and garlic Mac didn?t have enough cheesyflavor. I do want to highlight the burger. Having not eaten meat in almost a decade, I?ve had my fair share of black beanburgers and this may be the best one yet.
