When you are craving Cajun type food in the Tahoe area, this is the place to go. Extensive menu highlighting all the fine food... tastes of NOLA. They have found a great source for fresh oysters and have added those to the menu!! The shrimp and grits weretasty and served in a good portion size. Somehow I lost the pic of the blackened salmon. It was a fairly overdone but stilltasty. Service was friendly and attentive without being annoying. Prices were what you'd expect in South Lake. Having spent my summers in Tahoe for the last 30 years, I have mitigated expectations of great food, and now Toulouse has... changed everything. Not only is it good food, it’s great Cajun food! Shrimp and grits, poutine with sausage, blackenedshrimp or catfish po boy - we had them all! Incredibly delicious! Casual environment with great, heartfelt service from staff(Niko rocks) and owners, great drinks. Nice place to sit outside with a heat lamp, or spacious inside. Great service, the waiter was on top of everything while dealing with many tables, it was pretty impressive. The bar made our... drinks wonderfully, the Old Fashioned was killer. The food was on par with everything else, just awesome. Wife had the blackenedsalmon and I had the shell on shrimp. Overall, worth it and fun, will go back! Read more
Went here for breakfast and had the granola + fried egg and cheese sandwich (see photo). We arrived around 8am as they opened... and got seated immediately. The server was very kind, brought our breakfast within minutes and was always making sure we weren'trunning out of water and coffee ???????? The granola was good, berries were fresh and the size was ok. The egg was warm, (couldhave been hotter) and the toast was too hard for my favor.. Tried to cut it with a knive and had crumbs all over thetable.. Really lovely spot to get a down home meal. Casual upscale ambiance. Staff were super friendly and service with a smile. Poutine... was spicy, creamy and so satisfying after a day on the mountains. It's a little off the beaten path but well worth a short walkfor hospitality and Southern comfort food that's sure to satisfy. Read more
The best food I’ve ever eaten at Tahoe and up there with some of the best food I’ve had in California. The catfish po boy... was cooked perfectly and seasoning was top notch. So good that I had to try the bread pudding which is also excellent. Notcheap, but it shouldn’t be— the quality is superb and service attentive. Read more
My group and I had breakfast twice within a week here, and lunch. We were pleasantly surprised by how delightful the servers... were, and how delicious the food was. We stayed at the hotel next to it, Station House Inn, so it was convenient to where wewere staying. Everything we all had was great! Read more
