A luxury experience of a lifetime! After touring the many wineries in Napa, we ended with one of the most rememberable and... delicious experiences at Donum Estate. The arrival experience from the private drive to the breathtaking large scale sculptureby famed artist Jaume Plensa does't even prepare you for whats to come. It just has you in awe. After you park the car andbegin walking toward the entrance of the sophisticated yet modern tasting room, you are greeted by an expert wine directorstarting your experience with a warm welcome and a glass of wine. John Accardo was welcoming and set the tone for anexceptional afternoon. Upon entering, the minimalist interiors highlights a few pieces of the collection. John escorted us towhat we would soon realize was our own private tasting room. As we stepped into the room, shade automatically unveiled a 180view of the vineyard and one of the collections large scale installations. Our table was preset with glassware, our smallbites, florals as well as a personalized menu with our name on it. John took us through our tasting of prize pinot's withconversation that was relaxed, informative and most importantly, unpretentious. After the tasting, John took us on a tour ofthe art peppered among the property with the vineyards as the backdrop. His knowledge of one of the most impressive artcollections in the world is only surpassed by his knowledge of wine. Don't miss out on Donum Estates. A must each and everytime you visit Napa. I feel bad writing this review because this place is such a hidden gem in the Carneros hills, and it feels like such a secret... that is too precious to share with others! The wine and service here are top notch. Spendy, yes, but nothing compared to farinferior wines of the Napa Valley area that fetch higher price tags. Every tasting experience I have had here has feltpersonalized and incredibly special. And the art collection, it?s truly a marvel. Come for the wine, stay for the art, or comefor the art, stay for the wine. Read more
One of our absolute favorites. Fabulous Pinots from estate owned vineyards in Anderson Valley, Russian River and at the estate... in Carneros. Consistently good quality, and the surroundings are fabulous - some of the best large scale sculptures you will seeoutside of the most famous museums, carefully placed throughout the estate. Outstanding winery and wine! Their Chardonnay are awesome but the selection of different Pinot Noir grapes are outstandind. Book... a tasting and visit the art around! Great Job to Alex as a guide. Can't wait to be back! Read more
One of the best tasting experiences, ever. Those words are thrown around a lot these days but I say them here without hyperbole,... for this place is truly just that - an experience. The wines (Pinot and Chardonnay) are exceptional, finely crafted and elegant.But the grounds, the art, the sheer thought that went into everything... it must be (you guessed it) experienced. amazing place and amazing staff. this is one of the most unique wineries out there. to call it just that does a disservice to... its INCREDIBLE art collection with heavy commentary. it?s a far cry from the conveyer belt winieries you find around the place. Read more
