Reviews for Field & Vine in Somerville, MA
(Late Oct 2022): This could be one of the best restaurants around Boston. I went here with my mom to celebrate finishing an away... rotation at MGH. Amazingly unique and different tastes within the food and great vibes/decor too Read more
Beautiful location and atmosphere. Food was delicious. A bit edgier flavors than I normally like, admittedly. Ordered the... mackerel, honeynut squash, turnips, shishito peppers, fried new potatoes. Almond cake could be more almond-y. Be sure to checkif vegetable dishes are fully vegetarian, as some had non-vegetarian elements. Overall, this restaurant is a winner. Will beback next time we're in town! Read more
This place is amazing! The food is divine. The food is locally sourced and incredibly creative. The portions are small, and 4-6... plates is good for two people. Expect to pay about $100 per person. This is a great place to splurge. The ambiance is great to.The wait staff were very nice and gave good recommendations. Read more
Field & Vine made me feel again. An early reservation let?s me experience the raw aroma of plants and herbs lining the walls.... The energy shifts as they begin to cook in the open kitchen. The smell, changing with each dish, wafts a sensory attack of smokeand spices. Flower petals are picked off a plant on the counter for garnish. All the while the soft light sifting through thefoggy panes and plants falls gently on the food. The sight, the smells, and the tastes reminds me of what?s beautiful in thisworld and taught me once more to feel. Read more
Note: There is no AC. The restaurant has fans but it was not a comfortable dining temperature. Overall food is good but this... place about the VIBE. You can?t beat the greenery for a farm to table experience. Field and Vine feels like someone your datingbut not ready to commit to. Everything is fine but there?s something missing. Bass Crudo- I typically don?t like white fishcrudos but the oil and pistachio made this dish pleasant. The dish overall was a little too oily and could have used an acid. Also for $18 the dish was small compared to other Boston restaurants Roasted Beets with Nectarines- First of all these werecold and probably boiled. This was my least favorite and not balanced at all. Huge portions of beet are served with silvers ofnectarine and sumac which you couldn?t even taste. Berbere Steak- This was high up on my partners favorites. Medium rare steaksitting on berbere spice. My quam is with the eggplant purée. I had a similar dish at Tallula in Somerville that was muchbetter. Whole wheat cavatelli- The winner of the night. This dish was perfectly balanced - a homey cheese sauce sprinkled withsomething spicy. This felt like an elevated Mac & Cheese. On other important note - they do charge a 20% tip and a 3% servicefee. This place is a gem. This place is a hidden jewl. Go here. The food is freaking next level. Plates are small so you can eat a... variety. Flavors are layered. Dishes are beautifully put together. Spices are mixed creatively. Items are cooked to perfection.Items here feel and taste like they were just brought from a farm or the sea. Look at the menu and imagine what the dishestaste like... they are even better than that. This place is upscale but not stuffy; elevated but not pretentious. I can't waitto go back. Read more
Holy fricken sh*t. This was the best food and best wine I?ve ever had in my 23 years on this earth. Granted I?ve never eaten at... a restaurant of this quality before, but our waitress was incredibly helpful, pointed us to an excellent wine with our meals. The atmosphere was beautiful, tons of greenery and wood asthetic. Open kitchen so we could see them preparing our incredibledishes. Wow just wow Read more
Fantastic and unique flavor combinations await you. I was very impressed with every single plate, from the fluke ceviche (I... could have just gone to town on the gochujang crackers!) to the beef tartare, the cornbread with miso butter and pickledvegetables and perfect steak. It is the only place I have visited in months that has asked for a vaccine card. A little bitironic given that I was sitting at the chef?s table, mere inches from the entire kitchen crew, who are not masked. But I?ll dowhatever they want to gain access to those well considered dishes. Read more
