Extremely disappointing, from arriving & having to wait nearly 10 mins to be greeted- no one was at the stand. To finally being... seated & watching 3 other tables come in after us wait & get served water & drinks before us. When we finally caught the serversattention she didn’t apologise! Just said she could serve us now. We walked out. We’d booked for a birthday & came in frommetro west. Will not advise anyone to make that effort Read more

I would give them 10 stars if I could! It was my first time truly enjoying a full meal since developing my many food allergies... and the staff did everything in their power to provide me with the most scrumptious mocktails, starters and mains!! It was SOgood and we loved the vibes! My new go to dinner spot. Read more

I ordered a duck confit tortellini. I really like that they used duck instead of chicken. The noodle, however, should be a... little bit softer. Read more

What an absolute neighborhood gem. Wonderful space/ambience. Staff is over the top with courtesy and knowledge. Food was timed... perfectly despite being there on a Saturday at peak time. The kitchen had it all under control and the servers made sureeverything got where it was going on time. Speaking of the food...WOW....such a unique menu and very blatantly designed by achef with years of education and experience. Each dish was a combination of opposing flavors which came together to create aperfect harmony. You don't create these type of dishes by chance...there is some serious skill in the kitchen at Fat Hen. Winelist was superb, signature cocktails looked amazing but the wine list honestly spoke to clearly to my heart that I had to optfor a paired four course dinner. I was not disappointed. Rib eye and the scallop crudo stood out, but it was all simplydecadent. 10/10 will be back. Read more

We had an AMAZING dinner here. Definitely recommend doing the chefs choice. Every single dish was explained to us by the chef... who obviously put a lot of time and thought into the dishes. We both agreed that this was one of the best meals we've probablyever had. Certainly will be coming back. Read more

The food at Fat Hen is delicious, well-balanced and offers a great variety. It's also paired with exceptional service and... attention to detail. Having said that I would not call this an Italian restaurant. I came wanting to try the gnocchi and endedup going with the chef's whim 6 course tasting menu, but requested the gnocchi as one of the courses. Having the chef deliverand describe each of his creations shows his passion for the food. The meal started with smoked bluefish which was delicate andpresented perfectly. The next course was hamachi crudo which was my second favorite with a balanced sweetness from Meyer lemonsand a surprise with the inclusion of chili oil. This was followed by foie gras which was a little salty until mixed with thequince and cocoa. The potato gnocchi was my favorite and worth waiting for. This dish was a contrast in textures and deepflavors. The rainbow trout was tender with a crispy skin and as much as I like bacon, it felt unnecessary. I was excited to trythe NY strip steak which was cooked sous vide and then seared. While it was cooked well, it was missing the deep sear I preferin a steak. The meal was completed with baked doughnuts which were delicious. It feels like the restaurant and chef are usingdifferent influences and techniques to showcase their food, but are still trying to find a true identity. They have a small, cozy interior except for the large plate glass on one wall where the fluorescent street lights shine through. Overall it was avery good experience and I look forward to returning and experiencing more of their ever changing menu. Read more

Really nice place to eat. The octopus starter was good but the burrata crostini was a bit smoky. The gnocchi was very good and... we liked the actual pasta a lot, the sauce on the pasta course was good but not great. Our favorite part of the meal was theentrees. The bass was excellent and was served over an awesome pea salad dish. The steak was also fabulous and came with theseamazing fried potato gratin cube things, they were really awesome. We got two desserts, blackberry panna Cotta was not good. Theactual panna cotta was bland and completely overwhelmed by a champagne topping. The white chocolate semifredo with strawberrygelato was incredible!!!! One of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time. Really great service and all around really niceexperience. Read more
