Service was ok nothing to complain about. The food, ?3 piece catfish with okra side?, was a bit off. The okra was fried and... breaded very nicely, the taste and crunch were what I?d expect to pay for. The catfish from a visual stand point is appetizing, but taste wise I found myself trying to force it down. The smell of the fish wasn?t what I expected and the touch of the baremeat was different from my past experiences eating catfish from other establishments. The seasoning as hard as it is to sayespecially after reading the conversation they had posted inside the restaurant, was the opposite compared to what I read fromliterary mural. To describe the seasoning?s taste, overpowered and hollow. If I had a chance to make it different I?d use sometype of red pepper to help the saltiness and if they used garlic salt I?d recommend to use garlic powder instead. Overall frommy one time sampling their food , I think they used to be better but the RNG of food service just rolled low on my turn, but Ibelieve they will better than were before not to long from now. Def wasn?t worth the ridiculously long wait to have ordered online. I called to order but the young lady had me on hold... discussing her outfit for the club tonight. I ordered fish and shrimp. The fish was soggy and tasted like flour n fish. Thecabbage has frozen mixed veggies in it and the fries had a metal after taste. The shrimp was the only thing that was ok..probwould?ve been better with the tartar sauce I asked for that I didn?t get. I just didn?t wet my whistle one but. Will neverreturn. $46 totally wasted Read more

First time at this place. Customer service was good. I ordered a two piece catfish basket with fries coleslaw and toast. The... fish was ok only because it was way to salty. My fries were well done basically burnt. The coleslaw came in a ramekin you woulduse for dipping sauce and tasted like a mouthful of black Pepper! Had I checked my meal before leaving I would have brought itback in. I?m not one for wasting food. I ate it but did not enjoy it. Read more

The food is pretty good? nice portions. However the owner is super rude. A customer came in and order the exact same meal as me,... half the price. So I of course asked why I wasn?t offered the same priced lunch special. Which wasn?t displayed or on the menu.Instead of honoring it or even politely saying you have to mention it when you order or something. He immediately went offtelling me I got what I asked for, and I shouldn?t be worried about what some one else paid. Like what?!! I spent $50 on lunchand Literally all I said was can I get it for the same price (for one thing) as her and he just snapped!! & I still tipped 15%on my TO GO order. Smh for that reason I probably won?t go back but as long as you don?t have to deal with him I guess they?refine. Read more

Fried shrimp were very good and so were the baked beans. The cheese grits weren't edible AT ALL. I want grits not grit balls and... the peach cobbler wasn't good either. Definitely needed more sugar or something but it just tasted like bread. This was my firsttime trying it out, but I probably won't be back for awhile. I paid almost $60 for lunch and only half tasted good. Read more

This is ABSOLUTELY FRIED FOOD... over fried and over baked. Fried fish, shrimp, fries and this really very dark hushpuppy, pound... cake and peach cobbler, also there is no utensils. ???? There is always a first and a last. Read more

The young lady that answered the phone and worked the register was nice. Ordered the catfish and shrimp. It was ordered around... 1p and was ready pretty quickly. It looked yummy, but for me it was a little too salty. The fries didn't really taste like theywere cooked in fresh grease either. Read more

I've eaten many times here over the last 6-7 years and have always been pleased. It's a black owned business that cooks with... love and plenty of seasoning. I am currently ill and don't want to go out and expose others, so I ordered through a third partyvendor. I ordered a 6 piece shrimp and 2 piece fish plate. I was so disappointed when I got my meal and saw there were no shrimpincluded. I called Chef La's and Chef took my number and address and is currently preparing my shrimp and will be dropping itoff at my door. Taste is one thing, but customer service like that is unheard of in this day and age. I recommend Chef La's forthe food and for the unbeatable customer service. They've got a customer for life out of me and mine. Read more
