Out walking with the dog in Smithfield, pretty main street area. Stopped here for some lunch. Went inside to let them know we... were having lunch outside and the waitress came soon enough. We ordered a hamburger and crab cake sandwich. Food came about15-20 mins later. Hamburger was ordered medium rare, I found it did not have that much flavor and kept having to dab somebarbeque sauce on it. Parts of the burger were also a bit chewy, and it was supposed to be Angus beef. Wifes crab cakesandwich had quite a bit of filler as opposed to crab meat. Fries were ok if not a bit over salted. Waitress never came backout to check on us after she served the food. I eventually had to go back in and tell them we wanted the check. Overall it wasa nice atmosphere sitting outside but the food and service was lacking. Read more

Very good sandwiches and salad plates. Pimento cheese was outstanding. Brunswick stew seemed to be made from chicken and not... any pig. Big chunks. Needed to eat it with a fork. Read more

My family moved to this area recently from New York, so we have been scoping out some favorite spots. We have stopped by here a... few times to pick up some things on the go, but my husband and I recently had the pleasure to sit down and eat. The food is SOgood! It takes like home, like I have visited a loved one's house and they have prepared a something to eat just for me.Everyone who works there just adds to that homey feel because they are so friendly and attentive. I really think this place willbecome a favorite of ours. I can't wait to try out some of their cheesecakes and other desserts for our birthday parties andcelebrations. Read more
Road Trip Sharpening carried me to Smithfield. i enquired about lunch and was told to go here. Outstanding tip, Chris and i... enjoyed our lunch. Coffee for me and we started with Fried Green Tomatoes...OhBoy. Chris got the Ruben sandwich and i got theWindsor castle sandwich (Turkey). i wondered over to the dessert case and saw many fine looking cakes and pies, and then ispied one loan looking square bowl. i asked our server Hanna and she said Bread pudding - done deal for us.
