Big Mama's Country Kitchen is family-owned and operated. First, I have to say I'm upset with myself for not visiting this place... sooner! I saw signs around, but never bothered to look for it. Now that I've experienced Big Mama's Country Kitchen I plan onbeing a regular! The atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming you may as well be at your own mama's house. The food was perfectlycooked and delicious! The service is unmatched; the waitress was so sweet, accommodating, and patient. It was my first time so Ihad some questions and took a while to order, but she answered every one with a smile and lingered before leaving the table incase I asked anything else. Something that I ordered wasn't available so I was prepared to order something else when thewaitress informed me that her dad had already left to go get it! Mama herself came out of the kitchen to greet me and check onhow my experience was going. She also GAVE me a bowl of gumbo just to try it! By the way, it was good! I went back a few dayslater, with my parents, daughter, and one of my sisters but they were closed, even though the hours were listed and it wasn'tclosing time. I was so disappointed, but I understand how small businesses sometimes have to operate. Do yourself a favor andlet Mama feed you! Read more

Shrimp and grits were some of the best I've had. Chicken and waffles are pretty good, too. Staff was friendly and attentive to... everyone. Food came out in a timely manner. Definitely a place to take family visiting from out of town for breakfast. Read more

The food is good but it?s always something with this place. I?ve been three times in the past two months for breakfast. The... first time I told the person taking my order six times that I wanted grits with my order and it wasn?t there when we got homeand when I called the lady had an attitude with it. The second time they too about 30-45 mins to make a plate of shrimp andgrits. And the last time which was recently I ordered shrimp and grits and a big mamas waffle. I was expecting the prices I sawonline but when I got there my order was 6$ more because of ?price increases? that I didn?t know about. And when we got homethey gave us a drop of whipped cream and a drop of chocolate for TWO WAFFLES. The food is good but honestly it ain?t worth theheadache Read more

Had the best gumbo (2 types of sausage, chicken, shrimp, and CRAB)! Wife had the shrimp and grits. When you have a croissant to... sop up the Cajun Monica Sauce, you KNOW that's a legit dish. Big shrimp and savory grits, great dish done right at thisestablishment. Read more

This was my first time to Big Mama's Country Kitchen. The prices were reasonable and the food portions are generous! Everything... looked amazing. I tried two of the specials for the day: Fried Catfish with shrimp fettuccine and dinner roll & Sweet potatofried chicken with jambalaya, collard greens and a dinner roll. Both specials came with drinks. I'll definitely go back. Read more
