Very spacious classic fast food, with a drive thru. Orders were ready quickly and since you order at the counter you can easily... split the bill with a large group of friends. Their italian beef sandwich was amazing they have different style such as dipped,dry, or with peppers. If you choose the sipped sandwich it is dipped in gravy which is delicious. Their fries are crinkle cutand are very crispy, you can order a cheese sauce to dip your fries (highly recommend if you are a cheese fan). Before visitingIllinois I asked several friends and most of them always mentioned Portillos. There are several locations and service is veryfast so make sure you stop anytime you visit. Read more
When I return to Chicago, Portillo's is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is good. Today, I decided to write a review... because I was slightly disappointed with the cook that sneezed twice while cooking without a mask during COVID. Mask shouldalways be a requirement if you do the cooking. I took away a star for this issue. Read more
Flew into Chicago last minute and a trip to Chicago is not complete without a visit to Portillo?s. I can?t get enough of this... place and when your boarder line about to pass out from how good the shakes are, you know this place has to be good! Courteousstaff and prompt service. The food here is so good, but the service is always slow, especially if the restaurant is busy. The restaurant is always busy... each time I go here. I mostly go in here during lunch and had to wait a long time just to have a burger. I went here recentlyfor lunch again, and just like usual, the restaurant was busy. I have nowhere to go for lunch, so I have no choice but to wait.The food here is truly delicious. Anything I order from their wide menu selection always tastes delicious and filling. I onlyordered a double cheeseburger, fries, and a milkshake. Service may be slow, but the staff here are very friendly and helpful. Icould see that they were trying to do their best, especially the staff behind the counter. The prices of the food here are alsoreasonable and worth it for the quality and taste of the food. They also always serve fresh and hot food. The portions are alsogreat, just like the double cheeseburger I ordered, which has a huge portion with juicy and greasy patties, fresh veggies, and,of course, cheesy. My family and I ordered a catering box to go and had some for lunch at the restaurant. My little cousin does like pickled... jalapenos in Italian beef sandwiches so put some in my hotdog. I had a bit of my hotdog and felt something was not right. SO Iimmediately spit it out and saw STEEL STABLES in pickled jalapenos. We went back to register and showed it to Supervisor andManager Freddo. Manager Freddo offered me another hotdog and nothing else (not even a full refund for our $100s of dollarsorder. There's a lot of stuff to look at in the restaurant. The food was ready pretty quick and it was flavorful. I always order their... Italian beef sandwich, or their beef and sausage combo sandwich. I highly recommend those to any first-time guests! They alsomake a good beef & cheddar croissant. The cake shakes actually have big chunks of cake in them. Read more
