Reviews for Ludvig's Bistro in Sitka, AK
We enjoyed all aspects of our experience and we?d like to express what made it so great: The ambiance was outstanding. Our table... was outside on the deck overlooking the Sitka Sound which was really romantic (when it got chilly we were given blankets-hugekudos!) The service was top notch-our waiter was engaged with us and multiple tables and knew what he was doing. Our foodsuggestions were spot on! And now the food! Of the three years together this is probably the best food at a restaurant we havehad. Specifically, the scallops, the Caesar salad, the tenderloin, lamb chops, mushrooms, and our crème brûlée mixed withespresso was fantastic! I?d like to give a huge shout out to our Airbnb host (The Turner House) for recommending this restaurantand suggesting us to make reservations well in advance-we can see why now! Disclaimer: I apologize for not capturing our maindish which was the Tongas Mixed Grill. -The Rode?s Read more
I have never had clam chowder as good as I?ve had it at Ludvig?s. Oh my goodness. Do yourself a favor and stop in for the most... delicious lunch you?ve ever had. My family all had the provolone/prosciutto sandwiches and even my mother who is extremely pickyloved it. We finished off with the chocolate chip cookies and we?re still talking about them a week later. Can?t wait to go backto Sitka and Ludvig?s. ???? Read more
Absolutely delicious!!! If you are going to be in Sitka in the summer, Ludvig's is a must- but be warned, its very popular and... a very cozy/intimate restaurant, so reservations are a must. In fact, I would suggest making them as soon as your trip isfinalized. The wine and drink list is fantastic and the food....well, it was the best we had in Sitka. The flavors wereperfect, the food fresh, and the presentation spectacular. Read more
The Tuscan Scallops is amazing. The scallop itself is fresh, crispy outside and juicy inside. But the important part is the... sauce. The sauce has layers of flavours. It begins with a bit salty taste from the bacon and sour (maybe from the lemon). Thenfollows the sweetness of the scallops and ends with some taste of butter. Very flavourful yet very balanced. Compared with thescallops, the Paella Mixta is less impressive. I think the spice was a bit too strong and covered the original taste of variousseafood. Read more

Lived up to all the hype. Small venue with incredibly well crafted food. Spanish themed. The paella was fantastic; only place I... know of in Alaska that serves paella. A little tough to get in but worth it. The upstairs has a bar/tapas area that's firstcome/first serve but doesn't have the full menu. Read more
