Eli was an awesome waitress. The food was spectacular and the service great. My husband had salmon Wellington and I had chicken... Oscar which was with lobster. Oh and the chop salad was the best I ever had. Read more
We arrived an hour before the restaurant opened. The Hostess saw us in the lobby and peeked out to tell us they wouldn't be open... for awhile. I told her we just wanted to be sure to get a spot on the patio because it was my girlfriends birthday and heard thefood was so good we wouldn't mind the wait .She came outside a few minutes later with water for us. And a few minutes afterthat said she would see if she could get the Chef to make us appetizers if we were interested. We ordered spinach and artichokedip with crostini. Delicious! Our waiter delivered the appetizer and took our drink order, remember this was all before therestaurant even officially opened! We placed our order at exactly 5pm when the restaurant opened. It wasn't long before we wereeating a perfectly prepared meal. Great service, friendly staff very attentive! I had the smothered burrito and my girlfriendhad the beef wellington. Read more
First experience at Chef Lance's was great! We stopped by for lunch on a Friday. It was busy but no wait. I got lucky enough... to try the 2022 burger battle winner before it disappeared from the menu. It did not disappoint. The tots are to die for. Picture funeral potatoes formed into a ball and deep fried. My wife tried the cheese curd burger, which she claimed was a littledry. Look forward to trying their dinner Menu sometime. My only knock is that the exterior walls are not insulated well, so itcan be cold/drafty if you get an outside wall booth in the winter time. (We had a baby with us) Read more

Chef Lance opened his doors less than 4 months before our first visit, and our experience was on par with many veterans we've... visited. We were greeted with our name on a table in a pleasant modern, yet rustic, atmosphere. Everything we ate surpassed ourexpectations. The fresh bread was so delicious with its seasoning and herb butter. We started with "Benjamin Potatoes", bitesized potatoes loaded with a herb packed sour cream, cheddar cheese and fresh bacon crumble. Our meals both came with thechoice of a soup or salad, and boy are we happy that we didn't pass on the corn chowder. It was clearly made from scratch, withthe perfect amount of potatoes and large tender chunks of pork. So delicious. "Jenny's Tortellini" was spot on. Nice largeportion full of fresh mushrooms and spinach in an incredible sauce. The salmon was no disappointment either. The fish wasperfectly cooked, and the lemon caper sauce complimented the parmesan cheese so well. If the great food wasn't enough, ourwaitress stood out as well. She was what you'd consider a professional in the service industry. Perfect timing on everything, very polite and not overwhelming at all. Chef Lance and his team should be very proud of what they have created, and I'mwilling to bet they will become one of the top restaurants in Sioux Falls. We will certainly be visiting again soon! Ive heard good things about this place. And we have talked about going for awhile. Went for a birthday. I put this on the... reservation, not thinking they would do anything special. But they put a small sign that said happy birthday. The food andstaff was amazing. I had the Santa Fe burger and didn't read the whole thing. Really wasn't expecting this. It was good! Alsothe desert! OMG! We will be back for sure. Make sure to get a reservation on the weekend, they fill up. Read more
Chef Lance is making his mark on Sioux Falls with atmosphere, great food, and fast professional service at his downtown... location. After watching a music act at the Levitt, it was a short stroll to his restaurant on Phillips Avenue. Seated at atable for two, we were able to have a conversation without interference from other table conversations or echoes throughout thewood and brick interior. We each ordered the house salad to start, mine with their delicious in-house made balsamic vinaigrette.I chose the Jamaican-jerk chicken set over grilled pineapple with asparagus. Chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned and andthe pineapple added just the right amount of sweetness. My husband had the rib-eye and he allowed me ONE BITE. It about meltedin my mouth, oh my gosh. We will definitely visit again, well done, Chef!! Read more
We did not have a reservation so we arrived right at opening (5 PM) and were able to sit at the bar. The aesthetic of the space... is wonderful. Beautiful details, tables have a good amount of space between one another and there is beautiful original artworkon the walls. Our server at the bar was great, very attentive and provided recommendations on the menu. The food was just ok.We started with the bruschetta and it lacked flavor, very bland. For our entrees, we had the rigatoni and the NY pepper steak. The rigatoni was decent on flavor, but the meat sauce was a ragu and really did not have any sauciness to it. The pasta noodlesfelt over cooked. The steak was chewy, not a tender cut of meat. The star of both entrees were the mashed potatoes and whiskeycream sauce with the steak, both were delicious.
