I was interested because of the good reviews and their churros are good. But it's a NO for me.... the nachos were cold and chips... were burned. This is my go to place. The salsa is fantastic and and the food never fails. Two tiny notes. if you order through grub hub and... order a drink it's clunky and can't choose what drink you want. Not sure who's fault that is. And I wish they were open onSunday. Just like Chick-Fil-A I always crave them when it's too late!!! Read more
Uncle Bertos is not your average Mexican restaurant. Their salsa bar is one of my favorites in Greenville. Locally owned in the... heart of Five Forks, Uncle Bertos is a hidden gem. They are famous for their smothered burritos. I love their nachos, tostadas,and tacos. I?ve had their tamales before and loved them. Today they weren?t the best but in the 25 plus times we?ve been thereI?ve never had a bad meal so this one was a miss but not a big deal in the long run. Worst burrito I've ever had, veggies were barely cut, barely any meat in the burrito, salsa has no flavor. I was given beans in... an espresso cup with my chips. Also asked for no sour cream and they put a bunch of it in there. The word "burrito" is in theirname so I thought they would be good, dead wrong. I've been wanting to try here for years and today I finally did and was amazed at what I had. I got the Quesabirra and they... were wonderful. The shells were Cooked right and the meet had a great flavor. The chips, beans and salsa where great as well.The roasted jalapeños salsa was full of heat and flavor. Food was great! We got 3 tacos and 3 enchiladas. The enchiladas were AMAZING! The tacos were good. Almost made this review 4... stars bc the side of sour cream was barely any, most of it stuck to the container like cheese, not sure if it?s a mixture orregular sour cream that has melted?it was cold tho so not sure. Every meal comes with its own chips and bean dip. The bean dipwas really good and chips tasted homemade. Good thick chips. They also have a salsa bar. The pico from the salsa bar was ok, notsure if the hubby scooped nothing but onion or what but it was equal onion to tomato in the pico. I would def try this placeagain. I was really impressed with Uncle Bertos. The food was excellent and I really enjoyed my smothered burrito. Fast and friendly... service was also nice and a laid-back atmosphere in the restaurant. I will be stopping by there more often in the future. Read more
