Kind of a strange atmosphere for a BBQ joint but it's clean and comfortable. More of a diner feel? Got the tri-tip lunch... special, juicy, tender, excellent. First time visit to this place in Simi Valley California. Tried it and wasn?t over keen. Two stars for the service. The server... was really nice and sweet (additional star) for Food served hot from the kitchen that we could see right into. No problem therereally. It was very busy with takeaway, so obviously a lot of people do like the place. Unfortunately not myself or my hubs. We are BBQ fans and maybe it?s done differently on west coast, who knows?? Salads were good and garlic bread was served hot andfresh. Three different dishes ordered. Two combo and one beef rib. Chicken breast was tiny, thin and a bit dry so if you don?tmind bones get the half chicken instead. Same price, I believe. The bbq beans were not very nice either. This BBQ joint called Red's is a well known restaurant in Simi. It was great to see they are still offering curbside pick up to... anyone who wants to enjoy the comforts of eating at home, or still not completely comfortable eating out. We had lunch today andper usual it did not disappoint. The menu looks revamped and they have added a few specials. I like that they offer a full sizeand half size to their delicious salads. And who can resist the garlic rolls. Such a tasty starter to whatever you pick from themenu. Our waiter was attentive and on a hot day like today, he offered our drinks to go. This is the perfect lunch spot ordinner spot. Stop in to eat and browse the many shops nearby. A really great rolled ice cream shop is a few doors down andHomegoods. I?ve really been trying to avoid this review but it?s just gotten to the point there?s no ignoring it anymore. Reds tastes... amazing, we LOVE Reds and my family has been eating here for 20 years. The problem is their quality control. The last 10deliveries have just not been good. The tri tip is either poor quality or burned. Au gratin is almost always powdery and dry/notmixed. Forgotten rolls or rolls saturated in grease. Shredded onions super dry or poorly seasoned (spicy). It?s so disappointingbut for $70 we just can?t keep ordering food that is consistently bad quality. I've seen a significant change ever since ownership changed. Today my chicken breast was so dry, my baked beans seemed more of... sauce than actual beans and cheesecake crust was so hard I stopped eating it because I thought I would chip a tooth! Prices havegone up just like everywhere else which isn't the end of the world, but they no longer have soup/salad included with entree. Ourlast take out order was a disaster too.
