Reviews for Ali Baba Restaurant in Simi Valley, CA
Oct 2022 Yes, I will be back. Hidden Gem of the Simi Valley area! I have to say, the services quite top-notch. The owner, or... was he the manager, was really helpful and deciding what to choose off the menu. It's a sit-down place but feels like a takeoutplace as well. Good atmosphere, delicious food. A buddy and I opted for the lamb, made two different ways. He opted for thelamb kebab, which was quite a hefty portion, and also a Mediterranean style salad. The salad was great, it's like a choppediceberg lettuce, with some tomato, feta cheese, Kalamata olives, and some onion in the mix. Seasoned with oregano, olive oilcome on a dash of vinegar, it's Tangy and refreshing all in one bite. The salad was huge, definitely a huge Bowl full. I gotthe sliced lamb plate, which also came with hummus and a salad. And some pita bread as well. It's like chipped beef, but lamb.Really tasty, quite flavorful. It's tangy, it's juicy, it's tender and moist. Since it comes with a few Pita breads, I madelittle mini Gyros, if that's what you want to call them. Spread some hummus in, put in some sliced lamb, and you're good togo. Service was great, both the waiter, and a person who I believe was either the owner or a manager came by to check up on usquite a few times over the course of 45 minutes or so. We took our time, and the outdoor seating was very pleasant this time ofyear. I think people who would really get the most out of this would be smaller families, and also Travelers passing throughthe area, like people riding their bicycles or motorcycles. It's definitely a place where you can hang out, enjoy some fresh airoutside, or relax inside. Read more
OUTSTANDING! I had very little expectations when I walked in. It looked like a fast food joint, but tge food was nothing less... than gourmet¡! I had the salmon in some kind of a garlic sauce and it was incredible. The portions were large and served freshand hot. I couldn't even finish my meal. So the next day I had generous leftovers. The soups were delicious and the fresh pitabread melted in my mouth. It's hard to ruined rice, but it's also hard to make rice exciting and yummy. Well, the rice was soawesome! We got 2 more large bowls of it. The owner is on deck and runs a tight operation. My friend who had sone kind of akabob said it was superb. If you're in Simi and wanting amazing Mediteranian food, this is the only place to go! I give it a10. No, a 12! Read more

I am a huge fan of the Ali Baba restaurant in Granada Hills and was expecting something similar, Persian food. Although the food... is good and the service is probably some of the best that I have ever seen, I was a little disappointed that this restaurant wasmore of a Mediterranean food and not Persian food. The lamb was excellent and most of the Kabobs were mouth watering. Thechicken was one of the best I have had. I could do without the roasted vegetables, but overall definitely a place to visit.
