We had been looking forward to Gator BBQ for months, I hyped them up so much to my SO and was significantly let down by what we... purchased. We tried twice to see if it was by chance a fluke and ended up with food poisoning. Very disappointed, these guyswere my absolute favourite bbq place. Edit: we made our first purchase Saturday October 8th at around 4:30-5pm at the gator bbqbooth behind the grand stand at the norfolk county fair, we got brisket, beef ribs and gator tatters. I had made note that itdid not taste like regular gator bbq, and that it was not an accurate representation of your food. Avoid going to their PNE location. The pork ribs were under cooked, flavourless with barely any sauce. The person taking the... order is expecting a minimum of 15% tips on top of the expensive food for doing their job. Read more
Tried them out at the PNE. Overall it's pretty expensive for what you get. The brisket, pork ribs, and beef ribs were all... average and on the drier side instead of juicy side. Fun for fair food. Read more
A great selection of BBQ treats I have now tried almost everything on the menu at some point. I will say my top 3 faves are the... BBQ brisket, The Cornbread Muffin and most surprising is the pulled pork sandwich with fried onions and BBQ sauce on the herosub bun. Read more
Awesome place if you have a craving for smoked food! Highly recommended mega meal so you get to try everything. Brisket was so... tender and moist. Ribs were fall of the bone. Sides are also really good. Corn bread and Mac n cheese were the bomb! Definitelywill ride out there again! Owner was cool too! Read more
Overall food was good and the portions were generous, the chicken we really liked, the side ribs were a bit tough but had but... great flavor. We got the gator taters which were awesome! and the mac and cheese was spot on. Definitely a go to BBQ joint inthe area. Only real issue was with the buns, we ordered the Kaiser rolls and we got a regular hot dog bun cut up into 4 tinypieces....... so that was disappointing, I've seen this topic come up in a handful of reviews and also through friends. Glad wedidn't order the pulled pork as we would have expected the buns to be adequate to make pulled pork sandwiches. If I could makea recommendation it would be to use thick cut Texas toast like they do at many places in the south instead of tiny hot dog orhamburger buns, it would compliment the meal a lot better! it would also be helpful to have some pictures and descriptions ofthe items they have available especially when ordering online. We have been to Gator BBQ because we wanted to have a pulled pork sandwich for lunch during our test drive with the new MB A... Class. The owner of Gator BBQ was talking with us and showed us his smoker grill and gave use some examples of his beef brisketand some pulled pork out of his smoker. Such a great experience and I have to say, thank you so much. If I will ever be aroundhere again - I will visit Gator BBQ again. Read more
Best bbq in Norfolk County. Just ask for your taste in BBQ and they will accommodate. It's soo good It's worth the price in this... day and age. Worth every penny. Just go there and you will not regret it. Read more
