Exceptional beer selection. The pretzel was honestly a 4/10 and the Mac n cheese was a 6/10. But the staff were very nice and... the beer was great! Their electronic menu closed at 8 while I was still ordering and they went above and beyond to put my orderin still. Grateful. Wish it tasted better but that?s not on the servers. I?d go back. What a great experience. First of all the customer service is top rate. We went on a day where every single seat was taken... both inside and outside on the plaza. I was fully expecting a long wait - but they have it all figured out. You order and payright on your phone and for first timers - there's a huge sign that explains how to order. The beer and food come out amazinglyquickly. The servers or food/drink runners are very friendly and quick to pick up any used glasses/plates. So glad thisbusiness is thriving. We had a blast hanging out in the Biergarten with our kiddos and pups. Definitely family friendly and pet accommodating. Loved... the flight, loved the nachos, loved the self-order and online payment thing. So happy we checked this place out. Really exemplifies all my favorite aspects of a brewery. Friendly staff, wonderful beer,... excellent atmosphere and great bar snacks. So good!!! The beers come in a 1/4 pint for $3-$4 if you want to try them before you purchase a full size. Imma stout and lager... kinda girl and I was pleased. They have many beers, wines and cocktails to choose from. Prices are average $11-13 on wines andcocktails. The food was decent we had pork tacos, chicken tacos and a pretzel with beer cheese and mustard. My favorite was theAbbey quad and they cloud 9 (wheat ale with hints of banana). We ate everything before I could get picks. Not a lot of foodoptions but qhat they di have pairs well with the drinks. Kitchen closes at 9pm Friday. Indoor and outdoor seating. Parking istrash. Great pub in downtown Silver Spring. Really easy to find location, right next to the metro. Rating purely as a brewery, a solid... 5 stars, no question. I removed 1 start for the following reasons: ? Food options are limited ? Food quality was mediocre(except those ????s ????!) ? Didn't really feel the whole Gemütlichkeit ????, maybe because it was pretty dead when we arrivedor maybe it was on off day but still ??????????? Now that said, the staff were certainly cool, accommodating, & service wasgreat but idk. I guess I was thinking more of a UK/European-style setting. Where you can chat with everyone, even the staff butmy only interactions with the staff at Silver Branch was when they were serving or I sought someone out with a question. Ok,let's talk about the food in more detail: Overall, the food was ok. Not bad but nothing special. Just fine to snack on whileenjoying drinks. Tried everything they were serving at the time, except the hummus platter. Here are my thoughts: Chips &salsa - don't recommend unless you truly just want a very small handful of chips with some salsa Tacos (got the chorizo potato)- not great but certainly not bad. This would be 2nd only to the pretzels. Loaded Nachos - just like the other tortilla chipoption, (they really are conservative with their chips lol) this one is simply not a great value. Also the serving method /presentation is not great. Came out on a small paper plate. Very difficult to dig in, especially if trying to share. On apositive note, they were tasty (got the barbacoa version) Quesadillas (chicken & cheese) - think your standard quesadilla. Hardto mess up really but difficult to make awesome. These aren't awesome. Not as good as Chipotle or even Taco Bell honestly butagain, not bad. Pretzels (with mustard & beer cheese) - Honestly, the pretzels were the best tasting food there! Easily. Truly exceptional brewery. Always has something interesting and exceptional they're producing on tap. Can pretty much find any... style you like whether it's an IPA, stout, sour, or saison. They're my favorite brewery in the DMV not only because they makegreat stuff, but they also provide excellent service for their customers. Even in the pandemic they provide quick service, greatfood (get the ???? with beer ????) and will do everything to make you feel welcome and happy to be there.
