It use to be my favorite restaurant until I was disrespected today?.. I saw a rat and I told the waitress and owner but instead... of apologizing the waitress decided to roll her eyes at me. I was a customer of the restaurant even before the new management took over. I was under the impression that service would be... better than before as advertised. But to my dismay it got unbelievably worse. The reason I gave two start is because at timeswhen the other partners were present, you can see few changes on service but shortly. Then everything goes back the same wayagain. quality in service,the food, cleanliness deteriorates. If the management doesn?t take action. They are loosing a lot ofcustomers. I know I will not be coming again as there are other better restaurants nearby at a walking distance. Read more

Love this place. It?s my go to Ethiopian restaurant. The food is great especially their kitfo and tibs. The service could... improve but it?s still decent. What I love about this place is that the owner walks around asking the customers about the foodand service. It shows that he wants to improve and make the restaurant better. Amazing! I thought I'd had the best Ethiopian food in the D.C. area, until I tried Shalla. I was absolutely blown away by the... outstanding food there. The portions are huge and the spices are right on. The injera was also fresh and tender. The staffwere also incredibly friendly and accommodating. I'm already thinking about when I'll be returning. Good place to hang out with friends. The food was wonderful. They have a live band that gives it a nice vibe. Love the Ethiopian... culture & the waitress they call Kiddie. I don't remember the other server's name, but she was outstanding as well. Will gothere again with friends to have a good time. Read more
