Wow this place has went down! I love the later hours but where is the flavor? I ordered the super platter. Half chicken with 2... sides. The rice and beans had absolutely no flavor! They use to be a favorite. The plantain did not disappoint! Very fresh. Thechicken on the other was suppose to be a half chicken. I got 2 leg quarters… no white meat at all. I like dark meat. It I’mmostly a breast and wing man… This crisp and juicy gets a score of 2 stars. No one even answered the phone when I called. Longtime Customer lost. Read more
I Decided to buy my family dinner. They agreed on Crisp & Juicy , so I went to pUt in my order. I ordered the standard charity... planner, whatever that means it used to be called the Super Bowl platter. You get two whole chickens, 4 sides and like 8 sauces.Now when placing my order I asked the guy who normally cooks to give me one whole platter of dark meat he said, “yes I gotyou”! When taking my order we kept going back-and-forth over the sides. I kept telling him mashed potatoes, primavera rice,plantains, and I wanted another Primavera rice. He kept telling me how they were only four sides and I kept telling him I’mordering four. Somehow I end up ordering only three sides Primavera rice, plantain, and the mix vegetables. Now when my ordercame it was so hot it was already bagged up. But I still attempted to look and confirm that my order was correct. I looked atall the sides to make sure they were there. There was 1 large Container and too small ones. It was so hot and a bag started torip so I just said well I’m sure they got my order correct. I should’ve went with my first instinct because when I got to mymoms house I had 2 regular whole chicken platters. Now there’s a reason why I ordered all dark meat for one platter. It’shard for my mom to digest the course white meat. Not to mention sometimes Crisp & Juicy is Juicy with the breast and sometimesit’s DRY. This time it was DRY! If I decide to come back the next time I will ask them to see my platter before they Bag it! This meal costs $50. And if you order it a certain way it should come that way. I find it deceiving for the guy with the blackhair and the hat. Who cooks the chicken, to tell me that he was going to give me a whole platter of dark meat. When he did nosuch thing.! That’s deceiving! It’s almost like they wanna force you to get a regular whole chicken. If I paid $50 I shouldbe getting a platter of dark meat like a asked. Lost star update: I've gone there a few times now sometimes your chickens dry sometimes it's moist. The potato salad is... undercooked and very hard. They run out of stuff like plantain and have forgotten an entire meal one time at the closing time.Don pollo is better The chicken's pretty good Don't get the mashed potatoes they taste like they were made from dehydratedpotatoes that have been on someone's shelf for way too long then some chicken stock added So you can pretend not to notice. Just recently tried this place for the first time and I was extremely impressed. The Yuca was delicious especially paired with... the sauce they provide. The chorizo was delicious and the chicken was very flavorful. I ordered the grilled combination withyuca, plantains and Peruvian rice. This is a great little Peruvian style chicken spot. The chicken is regularly good and the location is small enough that they... are generally making it all day. So you avoid the issue that some other places have with needing to come during a rush to getjuicy chicken and avoid a dry bird. The side options aren't as expansive as some similar restaurants, but are well executed. I'm a huge fan of their fried yucca and plantain. The beans and rice are good as well. Their fries also crisp up nicely thenext day in an air fryer. The only complaint I have for you, which would not be the case for most folks, is that they leanreally hard into the mayo based sauces and tend to skimp on the aji verde, so you need to ask for more green sauce to avoid justgetting a bunch of yellow and orange sauce. I’ve ordered a whole chicken for pick up through the platform menufy.com and was told my order was processing and was ready... to pick up at 7:30 pm. When I arrived around 7:30 pm to the store to pick it up, first they haven’t prepared my order, andthen after showed them the receipt of my order from the platform, they prepared the wrong order. they gave me 4 chicken legsinstead of a whole chicken that I ordered and paid for. This is disrespectful and unprofessional. If they don’t have time orcan’t handle to prepare my order at least when I was there they can do properly. I am very disappointed. Read more
