Totally different from when i went 30 years ago. The last time I went there was no bar in the center of the floor. Food was... not good at all. Crab cakes were filled heavily. It reminded me of a place where the smokers and drinkers hangout. I will notbe going again. Read more

Fun, "Cheers-y" style everyone-knows-your-name ambience. Place is definitely very old and has a sense of history. I'm going 4... stars b/c the food was good, but not great, and probably not commensurate with the prices they're charging. I think they need towork on the menu a little. They said they'd ended their raw bar b/c of COVID. I hope they can bring it back. Lot of goodelements at this place. If they could kick the food up a notch, it would be a must-visit. Read more

We've been going to Chrisfields for 30 years. However in the past 2-3 months, we received shrimp that smelled like ammonia, 3... times. We called each time. We hate "returns" but this time we drove all the way back in the rain to return it. They gave us areplacement dinner so that was nice, but no-one apologized for any inconvenience. Do beware of the stuffed shrimp. Read more

I haven't eaten at Crisfields in about 5 years. It must have been closed for awhile as the counter bar was closed and two young... men and a very young girl were the front of house as well as being the servers. They did a very good job (a bit of a learningcurve was going on). I only saw some deep fried meals amongst the customers while I had a cup of seafood bisque (yummm) and afried soft shell crab sandwich with cole slaw. They were also very good. I gave it four stars instead of five as I'm not sure towhat extent they are serving non deep fried food like in the "old days". To be continued... Read more

Oldie but Goodie!! Been visiting this place since the eighties! Above average seafood. Mid pricey. Ex. 3 stuff shrimp... plate/fries $30. However, sooo delicious! Place hasn't been remodeled since the 90's. Not offering indoor dining right now.Sorry for taking the pic so late but just wanted to give an idea of portion size. Read more

This is a diamond in the rough. This Silver Spring, MD, landmark has stood the test of time. Don't be fooled by its rough... exterior, these frozen in time walls are keeping in all the flavor and goodness of traditional American coastal cuisine. Easilythe best meal I had on the D.C. area, Crisfield stole my heart with their healthy servings and friendly service. I was a bitput off when I realized the parking lot in the area photos were for the closed garage next door, but we were cautiously told wecould park there. This is a quintessential example of the quirkiness of this 70-year-old establishment. The charm is in thebeautiful and delicate flavors revealed underneath the tough exterior. After sitting down, everything about this place willremind you of holidays at your kooky relatives. There's a sense of home here. From the possibility of being yelled at forparking in the neighbors drive, to wanting to steal the homemade hot sauce because the retired bartender refuses to give you therecipe (or sell you some). All of this is stitched together lovingly into the perfect package through the amazing food! Theseafood is fresh and succulent. I tried both of the seafood combinations, one fried, the other broiled and I fell in love.Lobster, crab, shrimp, fish... oh my! Dont get me started about the sides. Best fries and baked potato I've had in years. Thecoleslaw was the perfect balance of creamy, sweet and acidic. Did I tell you about the bread--yes, I'm talking goodold-fashioned fresh dinner rolls. I had my doubts at the door. It's not the prettiest spot, and the outside wall smelledvaguely of urine. When we walked in there was slight stuffiness that smelled of age and better times. But we had no better timeanywhere else for any amount of money. There is just no hiding the real thing--and Crisfield is it! Yes it looks like it's beenthere since the 50s (because it has), but there is a reason. Just look at the pics and you'll know. All I have to say is, Go!The Read more
