Stopped by here traveling through Shreveport on the recommendation of a friend. Really liked the muffaletta, the meas were warm... and I know there's a debate but that's the way I prefer it. Their cheesesteak was absolutely amazing, and so was their friedshrimp and French fries. But their Cajun swamp fries were amazing! They were so good that we cleared the plate and didn't get totake a picture. Service was excellent and atmosphere was friendly. Definitely recommend. Read more

Very good selection! The fried mushrooms I could've done without, tasted jarred then fried. The boudin balls are amazing along... with everything else. The pickled green tomatoes were so good and a new taste for us. Alligator and frog legs were....yummy! Read more
Stand-alone restaurant with limited parking during busy times. Restaurant and restrooms were clean and good order. Wait staff... was very very friendly helpful and attentive. For appetizers the boudin balls were excellent. Our entrees are also very good.Highly recommend. Read more
I have refused to eat gumbo and jambalaya until I was able to eat it first in Louisiana. I have traveled a great deal around... the world, but wasn't able to get to LA until a week ago. I was traveling from NC to TX and made sure I was going to be rollingthrough LA during lunch time. Because of the hurricane just coming through, I decided to avoid southern LA but I was stillgoing to go through Shreveport. I actually chose a different place in the city that was super well rated and popular, but theywere serving a Sunday brunch menu that had had no traditional Cajun food, so back to the drawing board. A few minutes on googleand I settled on Crawdaddy's. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very "southern home cooking" style. I ordered a cup of gumboand a cup of jambalaya. While waiting for my food, I was still scooping out the menu and decided to add a shrimp and grits aswell. The shrimp and grits came out first. I've had this dish here in NC and while it was my favorite I've ever had (call thata 10), this was a 9.5. The gumbo came out next with a side of rice and saltine crackers. So, as I mentioned before I've neverhad gumbo before, but I have been in the "food biz" for a long time and has seen countless gumbos throughout my day on TV andthe web. Of course, every recipe of everything is always going to be different. This gumbo was thinner than I expected, butit has a nice flavor, chicken, sausage and other ingredients in it. It had some nice heat to it, but not overwhelming. Beingmy first, I will rate this a 7. It wasn't what I was expecting/hoping The jambalaya was last and CERTAINLY now least. Came outw/ saltines as well and some green onion on top. This dish is full of tons of flavor. I was already super full so I had about3 bites and got a to go container and ate it while I was driving through Texas. 10/10!!! Delicious! First time dining. Stopped by on the way back from New Orleans. So glad we picked this spot. Staff was friendly and... accommodating of our party of 10. Very good food. Beignets were hot and fresh. I will drive back to Shreveport just for those????. The fried green tomatoes...????. The tomato relish stuff(not sure of the exact name)...????. Yummy yummy. The crab cakeswere not all that. The inside was alright but I could not get past the breading. The Patron Margaritas... Oh yeah! The alligatorwas good too. Overall very happy with my visit.
