Evening order, because of a late arrival from out of town. We picked this place because of the location. I had an assorted sushi... combo and mixed Tempura. Sushi rice was lacking, perhaps freshness or moistness(?). Some of the fish was good, and the tuna wasvery tasty, however some other peices of fish were a bit dry. No Wasabi to marry the fish and rice. The Tempura was okay.Overall I wouldn't pick this place again. Read more

I will not be coming back to visit. You know its bad when I take the time (after 2 phone calls from the Bar and Grill) to leave... a negative review. My children and were seated very out of the way (despite it not being busy and that I called in first tomake sure that it was "kid friendly"). I was not allowed to put the high chair beside me, and being seated back beside the barfelt very... off putting. I called in to communicate this feeling. Their attempts to "explain" their reasons for doing so haveonly left me continuing to feel that they would have preferred that my children and I did not come. I appreciate their reasonsbut I can promise you, I will not be back - with or without my kids - after all of this. And now I'm taking the time to leavethis review so that other parents can also stay away. Too bad, because the sushi was very, very good. Read more

I feel badly leaving a negative review, but I just threw $150 of food into the garbage because it was inedible. The veggie... sushi I got tasted off and I ended up literally vomiting shortly after eating it. I tried again the following day and got sickagain, so I am fairly confident that there was something wrong with the roll. The meat dishes my husband got were also aletdown. The "meat" was all gristle and was inedible. The noodles that came with the meat were quite greasy and made everyonewho ate them nauseous. I will say that the salad that came with the Bento box was excellent. I am not sure what happened witheverything else we ordered, but it made everyone who ate it sick and we threw almost all of it out. There was also an issue withmy order twice and there was no accountability on the part of the restaurant so I just had to reorder what I had requested butdid not receive in the first place. I appreciate that the tempura is vegan and that is what drew me to try this place out, butunfortunately I just cannot recommend it to anyone. Read more

I am disappointed to have to leave a 1 star review. The food was decent and our server was nice but we had a horrible waiting... game. We arrived and hostess told us we'd be waiting 15 min or longer when the restaurant was fairly empty. My mom and sisterwanted drinks so we asked to sit at the bar. Hostess said we can sit there but we won't get drinks. We sat and the bartenderdid serve drinks anyway. We were there for 35 minutes before being offered a table. Bartender said she'd serve us and it'd befaster. It was not fast. We waited 20 minutes for the order to be taken. We were told the miso soup would be fast and itwasn't, it was 15 minutes later that it arrived. We are now looking at 1 hr 10 minutes and no food. After another 15 we got theappy deluxe Platter which was the highlight of the meal as the boat looked cool and the portions were pretty big. We waitedanother 15 minutes to get our actual meal, and by the time we finished it had been an over 2 hour ordeal. The sashimi I had wasdecent but not amazing and very pricey. I have always loved going to Sumo Sumo, the food is always good and the service is decent. I really like the Volcano rolls, and... a few of the other specialty rolls. The tempura vegetables are really good but this time I think the dipping sauce was lacking abit of flavor. Must have had an off day. I will go back as I have never been disappointed with my dining experience. Read more

Edit: The wait for take out is ridiculous. Called and said it would be 2 hours, which is ok because it?s Valentine?s Day.... However, I went to pick it up two hours later and it wasn?t even made yet. I?ve been waiting outside for almost an hour now andstill nothing. This isn?t the first time this has happened. I don?t think I?ve ever gotten my food on time. My first experiencehere was great, second was mediocre, and my third was terrible. They aren?t open for indoor dining so everything is take out atthe moment, fine. When I?m told my food will take 40 minutes I expect it to be around that ballpark. Not an hour and a half!Having to wait outside in the heatwave for my food is brutal. Very rude front of house staff as well. As for the sushi, my lastexperience was very disappointing. I don?t recommend the samurai roll. Very dry and it was cold. No sauce either, even though onthe menu it said there was. I?ll try this place again once it opens for indoor dining. Hopefully then it?ll be a betterexperience. Read more

Chose Sumo Sumo today as we had a very pleasant experience last time. They just opened up for the first time after covid shut... down. We are not very impressed this time though The place was not managed well. Our server was kind of confused she missedand mixed up orders. Was not on top of our drinks. It took us 10 minutes or so every time we asked for something. Our four mealswere brought to us in the delayed pattern. Our last meal was brought out nearly after 25 minutes of the first meal was served.This made it awkward for all on the table. Their food quality is still great, presentation is amazing. And that's the reason Igave them three stars. Read more
