Overall the typical Golden Coral experience. The restrooms were decently clean. The food was hot and well stocked. The steaks... were grilled and delivered as requested. The dessert bar was big messy from kids, but I guess that is to be expected at abuffet. It was a well needed stop on our trip and a welcome meal that everyone was happy with. Bathroom stinky. Pizza old. My tummy hurt later that day....for the rest of the day...Sometimes it's time to remodel. Floors and... booths are just OLD. Nobody from staff was super friendly or happy. Been going here for 5 years now. Pretty consistent quality - altho prices have risen quite a bit. Fresh cut ham is one of the... best items here. Wish they would bring back the chocolate fountain + strawberries. Overall a good buffet. Read more
WE'VE BEEN GOING TO THE GOLDEN CORRAL FOR MANY YEARS. I especially enjoy the gigantic tasty strawberries dipped in hot chocolate... sauce and the outrageous country music! THE BEST TIME TO GO is definitely Monday - Friday AFTERNOONS. Weekends are much morecrowded . . . and more expensive! Since I am a certified nutritionist, I usually start out with the great salad bar and a bigbowl of 6 different kinds of beans mixed together. With a generous helping of grilled mushrooms. Fills me up with protein and. . . It's cheaper than chemo! And I can sure save on the gas bill when I get home! (actually, if you eat beans on a regularbasis, you'll be able to digest them with no gas problems) Then I usually get some tuna salad, crab salad and steamed broccoli.And those gigantic strawberries for dessert. Some excellent, healthy choices with a good dose of country music! Don't forget toask for the senior deal discount. The Golden Corral has over 300 locations from coast to coast. Although they had to close 200during the pandemic. But they're building back better than ever. I really enjoyed two visits to their store in Corpus Christi,Texas. To me the Golden Corral is the best. Back east GC's all over the place, here a bit less. All of the employee's worked with a... great sense of urgency. Showed up for a birthday dinner for our son (17) who only wanted Golden Corral. Doors were locked and we weren't allowed in at... 7:15pm... which would have given us more than enough time to eat. Texas Roadhouse next door got our business instead. Previousvisits the food had been sufficient, and the atmosphere a bit too busy. We were hoping the later dinner time would have resolvedthat. If we do end up going back again, if they actually honor the posted hours maybe I'll bump the review up from 1 star. Ifwe had known they were going to close whenever they wanted we wouldn't have planned to go there. Read more
