We had eaten at this Lupe Tortilla a handful of times before the pandemic. The food was fine but the family all agreed that the... taste, although good, wasn't as good as one would expect for the prices they charge. The portions always seemed smaller thanother restaurants. The fajita meat is good, but there are a lot of other places where it's a lot better. We will continue tostop by here a couple of times a year to keep our Tex-Mex restaurant rotation interesting. Wow. We love Mexican food, this is one of our favs, hadn’t been back in years. There is always a wait, but I can understand... why. I love love love the fact that there is a separate vegetarian menu. First, let me qualify my review: I'm from Texas... born/raised. I moved away for years, but since returned back to live. I am a... picky eater. So when it comes to Mexican foods, I usually stick to chicken fajitas. I never order beef fajitas or anything elseon most Mexican restaurants' menu...never!!! I've eaten at hundreds of Mexican restaurants, and probably closer to thousands. Sowhen we arrived here, we were cordially greeted & asked if we've dined there before, which my wife & I hadn't. We were promptlyseated, and they brought us a sample of their beef fajitas. I was like whoa... this is good!!! I'm going to order the beeffajitas. My wife ordered enchiladas. She is pickier than I when it comes to her foods. Anyhow, our meals arrived, Note: "all atonce" like it should have, & all of a sudden I realized my wife and I were no longer talking to each other because...wait forit: the food was so good, we both were just eating and savoring the taste. Good is an understatement. This food was absolutelyamazing!!! We don't critique places we eat, but won't return to places not worth returning to. We were out running errands andfound this place, so we stopped in because it was convenient. Wow!!! What a complete surprised find. In summary, it was the bestMexican food I've ever tasted, and my wife is usually more critical. She concurred. We've added this place to our list, andhaven't stopped talking about it amongst ourselves or to others. The food & service were absolutely outstanding and that is anunderstatement.
