Took my parents out for their birthdays, they used to go to La Scogliera when it was in Bpt. They apologized, smallportions with a hefty price, I guess the price of pasta rivals that of gasoline. The staff were great, the food sooo good! Fresh homemade pasta. The tomato sauce was fantastic. I had the homemade fusilli w/... meat sauce and my wife had the mezzalune with a mushroom stuffing and a delicate cream sauce. We topped it off with theirpistachio cake for dessert which was light and delicious. Another visit is in order and soon!! Read more
When you want a total family experience and fresh, hot off the stove, delicious Italian meal, La Scogliera is the place to be. ... It has a small dining room with about 14 tables, depending on the settings. There's also a well stocked, separated bar area withseating at the counter and a few more small tables for dining. The food is simply delicious no matter what you order, either offthe normal menu, or from their daily specials. They clearly state on their menu that it takes time for their foods to beprepared, so after ordering, be patient until that foods comes out to you hot and delicious. It'll be worth the wait. Thewait staff is always on alert and very attentive to your needs. This tucked away restaurant on River Road in Shelton, CT has nowbecome a favorite spot for me, even though it's two towns away from my home. I've been inviting friends to join me there fordinner and they all have the same positive opinion of this place. If you don't want to dine in, they also have take out servicewhich is how I first ordered from this place during the pandemic. The food was still nice and hot when I got home. I highlyrecommend La Scogliera to anyone who's looking for a great dining experience, where they can have a quiet conversation duringdinner, without the frantic hustle and bustle of a chain restaurant. I'm just a Nashville girl, on a work trip, stumbling across this delightful AUTHENTIC Italian restaurant, humbly begging you to... try the cake that is baked in house by the owner. I got the white chocolate with almond and coconut cake to go, and had toforcibly stop myself from eating it all in the hotel room all in one go. Not sweet at all, but creamy, rich and dense withtoasted almond. It made this three-day work trip worth it. I also had the red snapper with mussels and clams. It was great, butsooo much food after grilled octopus, calamari, and an antipasto. Anyway. 10/10 go here. Read more
Wonderfully authentic Italian restaurant. La Scogliera is neatly appointed with a warm welcoming family environment. The owners... are from Calabria who prepare fresh pasta dishes with many homemade pasta choices. The staff members are extremely friendly andjovial which compliments the vibe of the restaurant itself. My wife and I, being Italians ourselves, were extremely impressedwith the quality, taste, and presentation of the food that was prepared for us. The Calamari fra diavolo was the most deliciouscalamari that my wife and I have ever had in any restaurant. I would hands down recommend La Scogliera to all of my family andfriends. Read more
Sitting down right now as I write this. First night in Toronto from upstate New York. Amazing place. Great atmosphere, hostess... was really nice and great to talk to.
