We had passed by El Mexico several times as we've explored the Mexican options in town and always remarked how it seemed to do a... good business. Finally we decided to go - we were not disappointed! The place was very clean. Like it was spotless and smelledclean above even the food. We sat at the bar and it seemed like a good choice as there were several Hispanic people therealready (regulars I'm assuming) and we got to listen to them cheerfully interact with the wait staff in Spanish. I don't knowwhat they were talking about but it sounded fun. There was a lot of laughter. So ambiance - check. We ordered the El Mexico dipand it was fantastic. Salsa and ground beef covered in cheese is my kind of dip and this was one I'll go back for. It wasexcellent. I ordered the fajitas Hawaiian and my wife had the shrimp fajitas. Portions were beyond enough - we each left with abox and I've made mine with eggs for breakfast and still have some left. My wife had hers on a salad the next day with someleftover still as well. We will definitely be back and I think this is the place I'm most impressed with in town for Mexican sofar. To the owners and staff - keep up the good work!! Read more

The Mexican-American food at El Mexico restaurant in Shelbyville Tennessee is always consistent. The service is generally good... and sometimes great. Sometimes the atmosphere is bland no music playing and sometimes like this time there's water on the floorwith water markers up to let people beware. The rest restrooms are generally very clean as they were in this time. There ishandicap access with handicap parking which is very nice. #disabled #handicap Read more
