MAKE A RESERVATION OR SHOW UP 20 MINUTES BEFORE OPENING. the food is worth every penny, the plates are small and meant to be... shared. I ordered the chili as a main, the oysters as an app along with the mushrooms toast and everything was exceptional. Read more

Broiled oysters, baked halibut, smoked tri tip, and cheesecake ice cream, oh my! I forgot to get a pic of the mushroom toast on... homemade bread. ???? If you find yourself in Seward, Alaska you MUST have dinner at The Cookery. What a delightful upscaleeating establishment with a down-to-earth vibe. No fried food on this menu. Do yourself a favor and go (just remember to make areservation)! Read more

So let?s start off with you need a reservation. The lady at the front was not good at her job. We got there at 5pm and we were ?... First on the list? , which translates to doesn?t matter. After 75 minutes, I was told it would be another 60 minutes. We finallygot a table at 7:30pm, but it was worth the wait. I think. Our waitress was great, friendly, and was helpful. The food was supergood. Of course I got the fish. The deserts where good but maybe not $12 worth. I heard the oysters were great but I amallergic?. So bottom line, make a reservation. But they made it up to us, it was a milestone birthday and they softly sang happybirthday with us. I appreciate the quiet but nicity they provided. Thank you for making up for the wait Read more

Our experience at the Cookery was a good one. It's a low key, no pressure atmosphere with surprisingly upper scale food. The... taster that came before our meal was a great surprise. Service was super friendly. The prices are slightly on the higher sidethough fair for a tourist town in Alaska. Our meal consisted of fresh shucked oysters which were excellent and the fish of theday - a super fresh juicy halibut cooked perfectly was also excellent. Our vegan friends that joined us found few vegan optionsbut the two dishes they found they thought were good. There were no vegan dessert options. Speaking of desserts, we tried thecarrot cake parfait with a side of their unique cream cheese ice cream both were great! Read more

It is amazing that a small town like Seward can host such a brilliant restaurant. The seafood are fresh, the oysters are fresh... and fair priced. We had a group of 6 so we tried a variety of appetizers and entrees, chicken, salmon, steak, shrimp all good. The dishes are well prepared, creative in flavor and cooking. It is may be a bit pricy but worth it. Long lines starts from 5 soget reservations ahead or come early! Read more

Definitely one of the best spots to eat in Seward! We got there a little after they opened (between 5 and 5:30pm), without a... reservation and they had plenty of tables available. Everything we tried was amazing: garden salad, brussel sprouts and oysters. For the main dish we tried their fish of the day, which was a halibut on a chickpea puree. It had tons of flavor. For dessert, Irecommend trying the carrot cake. Very recommended and I'll sure be back when I'm in Seward. Read more

If you can get reservations or wait for a table... stop here! Best service in Seward! The food was incredible. Brussels mixed... with cashews were to die for! Mushroom toast was out of this world. Such excellent flavors! The only thing we didn't care forwas the shrimp. It was good quality, just didn't jive with the flavors. Read more
