Summary: outstanding salmon bake dish lives up to its namesake, generally good value and quality food. Visit: 7/5/22 7:30... pm Pros: - Salmon bake dish is delicious with a lovely spice rub and grill marks. A little overcooked and dry for my liking butI think that's typical here. - Chocolate surprise (chocolate cake) dessert was good. - Captain's Platter was good value withsalmon, battered shrimp, and battered halibut (pictured). - Seafood chowder was good. - Corn side had an interesting flavor withhints of pepper. - Cornbread was good. - Garlic butter rice side was good, al dente rice. - Service was decent and our party of5 waited 20 min or so despite them being busy. Cons: - Coleslaw was a little too yogurt-y. Overall: - Food 4/5 some of thebest salmon in Seward and other dishes are pretty good though nothing mind-blowing. - Service 3.5/5 average to above averagefriendliness and wait times - Value 3.5/5 probably one of the better value places in Seward, but it still is Seward. We visited this restaurant last year while staying in Seward for several days. The food was very good with decent portions,... great atmosphere, but a little tight and crowded inside. We did have to wait about an hour to be seated as they were prettybusy at the time. The king crab legs were great! Not the largest that I have seen, but they were decent size. Read more
Our last night in Seward we ate here for dinner. They gave us cornbread before our meals which I thought was pretty okay, a... little on the dry side for my liking. My boyfriend and I ordered the gulf captian?s platter and split it between the 2 of us.The halibut and tartar sauce were my favorite. Dessert we tried the chocolate cake which was perfect if youre a chocolate lover, but be aware, it is a LARGE slice so great for 3+ people to share. Read more
Great food, decoration and service. The seafood platter was alright but the crab legs and steamed mussels were delicious.

Since it was a dismal, rainy day (check out the puddle in their parking lot) and we had been on the boat tour for most of that 6... hours, we decided to return to the Windsong Lodge to warm up and dry out. Not many choices to eat unless you head to the onsiterestaurant or walk the half mile to The Salmon Bake. Glad we did though since it was much better than eating at the lodge. Wewere seated right away since we were fairly early and I think many were deterred by the rain. The server was very friendly andefficient. Good local draft beer on tap. Sockeye salmon sandwich was delicious and the homemade berry cobbler a la mode was verygood. Atmosphere is very lodge eclectic and kitschy but fitting for the area. Definitely not lousy food so check it out. Read more
