Applewood is the perfect place to fulfill your yearning for home cooked ?not chain restaurant? food. The breakfast, lunch, and I... assume dinner, menu is quite extensive. We arrived at 11:00 am and received breakfast and lunch menus. I was deeply torn as towhich meal to have and went with the lunch. Breakfast would have sufficed as well. There was something for everyone. Theatmosphere was similar to any diner other than the glass enclosure with finches ???? The food was good. Not great, ?this is thebest anywhere? but good enough that you should be pleased AND full when you leave. My bride and I both had the Trio which wasfried chicken, chicken pot pie, and chicken and dumplings. While I consumed it all, my bride was not thrilled with the pot pie.Admittedly, I make a better version so her standard is higher. None the less, we would return given the chance. Read more
Had a nice dinner here without a very long wait (only about 20 minutes). Service was awesome! The fritters with the apple... buttercream and desserts are sooooo delicious (probably the best banana pudding I've had). However the main entrees and sideswere much too salty. We were here for the first time and we were amazed by the food & the birds inside their cage were entertaining to watch. The... service was also good. The apple fritters, apple julep & apple butter alone for appetizer would be more than enough to satisfymy appetite. It was extremely delicious & addicting. I think the birds in the restaurant should be in nature, not in a glass cage. I also don't like plates of the same color. I... did not like the food I ate. The service person was friendly and interested. Giving 1 more point for the service staff and 2stars maybe will make you think. If the birds are released I will re-evaluate. Read more
Food was amazing and servers were nice. Had to get some apple fritter mix and apple butter. The complimentary juice, muffins and... fritters were all great. I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast and it was delicious. I would recommend coming in at 9, around9:30 people come flocking in and you will have a long wait time. We came here for breakfast. Everything was soooooooo good!!! The service was great and the food was delivered faster than we... anticipated. No wonder why it is so highly recommended. We had their Egg breakfast with bacon and eggs with country chicken.Everything tastes delicious. This is definitely a place to try when coming to this area!!! Read more
We loved the dinner a few nights ago so we wanted to try out their breakfast. We got here and there was a long line?thankfully... being a party of 5 we were seated within 10 min or so. They have a huge bird terrarium which my daughter loved. We had to go upand see them a few times throughout eating. The birds were acting crazy, which kept my daughter attention for a while. The foodwas good but just not as flavorful as the dinner we got. The eggs were just super plain. My mother in law got the ham omeletteand was disappointed by the lack of flavor. The bacon was good and crispy and the biscuit was great. Of course we all loved theappetizer as it tasted so good, and my daughter loved them as well. Jan was our waitress and did a great job! I've been to this restaurant twice now. The first time it was really good. The second time I wasn't that impressed but still... rated it good. I got here about 530 at not busy yet, took a little while for a waitress to come to me, but when she did she wasvery nice and respectful. I had the fried chicken, it was decent, you could tell that it had been sitting under warmers for alittle while and just had that look to it, not like fresh fried chicken. As far as the atmosphere it was OK except they have acar with birds in it and I'm not a big fan of birds around the area you eat, my opinion. I would definitely recommend you eatinghere. Read more
