Menu for Barhop Artisan Pizza Sequim in Sequim, WA

I\'m surprised to be writing this, but writing it I am. Barhop has the best pizza that I\'ve had in the last 30 years. I... actually went back and read all 50 of my prior reviews for pizza restaurants trying to find one that impressed me as much asBarhop did yesterday. I found none. I can legitimately say that I\'ve never had better pizza in Washington State, at least asfar as I could remember, going back to the mid \'70s.\n\nWith that made perfectly clear, there\'s really not much to say aboutwhy it\'s so good, but I will point out the important things. First, the crust is perfect. It\'s clearly aged with great flavorand chew, not overly thick or thin, and has a wonderful flavor that\'s not bland or watery. Second, the sauce is seasonedgenerously without being overwhelming. There is a subtle balance of flavors that highlight the tomato base. Lastly, the toppingsare each gourmet-quality. On my first visit I opted for the meat lovers pizza and appreciated everything from the sweet sausageto the spicy pepperoni. It was all wonderful.\n\nAs always, I really think the pizza could use a little more sauce and slightlyless cheese, but that\'s a personal preference. I was not disappointed, at all, in the ratio of sauce to cheese. Even better,the person taking my order was knowledgeable enough to try and talk me out of extra sauce, pointing out that it would verylikely compromise the structural integrity of the pizza, making it a floppy mess. I told him that I\'m aware of that risk anddeal with it often. I just appreciate that he took the time to spell that out for me and trust that he would offer similar goodadvice to others. That\'s really excellent customer service right there. That said, I don\'t think I really got my extra sauce,but obviously I don\'t care at this point because the pizza was so good.\n\nI have no complaints, but would make one suggestion.Personally, I thought there was a little too much flour on the crust of the cooked pizza. Fantastic pizza, great toppings, top tier crust. Great beer list and recommendations. Service was also excellent. Loved the... bathroom signs too. :) The only thing that kept it from being 5 stars was that it’s very loud. It was only about half full andI wouldn’t want to be there when it was busier. Some of those sound reducing curtains or panels would make it perfect imo. Read more

Beer is really good. Pizza is OK. Service and help is excellent. Long wait for pizza. Noise inside is absolutely deafening.... Owners should give some thought to adding noise reduction panels and possibly curtains to the interior. Read more

Really relaxed pizza pub. Amazing pizza smells. Just stopped in to see the new location and try a watermelon rhubarb cider... (delicious, not too sweet not too dry). Will be back for pizza soon! Read more

My husband and I were excited to try this pizza place. Great choices for pizza but the beers were all very heavy. Thought they... should have at least one light tasting beer.\nthe pizza man hand toss the pizza, really working and perfecting the dough.\nWesat down and the heavy metal music was blaring loudly giving me a headache. This is an older community not the head bangingmusic. The cashier delivered our delicious pizza (small for the money) and asked if he could get us anything. I asked for water.He came back with cups passing the water dispenser and said to us “the water is over there by the soda. “ next time I’llknow but he did ask if he could get anything for us. Bad customer service. Meanwhile the music was very loud, a few people camein the dining area only to turn around to eat at the bar.\nGood pizza, made with care. Because of the pizza man and the pizzaI’d give it a 8. But The owner or head cashier needs to adjust to the Sequim community. Don’t think it will last sorry tosay. Read more
