Reviews for Gg's Cafe in Seguin, TX
My brother in law had been here prior and had a good experience so we decided to come check it out. I was bummed to find out... they didn?t have frozen margaritas but they did have beer. We tried the fried onion rings and they were really good. They alsobrought out complimentary rolls. We had the chicken fried chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes. Then another one withcoleslaw and potato salad. (Which personally had a season that definitely stood out but wasn?t a fan of) Also had the Cajunfried catfish with fried okra and green beans. The chicken tenders with masked potatoes (which needed a bit more flavor) andupgraded a side for the salad. It was all mostly good food, some did a need a bit more flavor. Service was absolutely great, wehad Slim!! He was just on top of it all! Great attitude and very attentive, kept up with our drinks! Read more

I orders a chicken fried chicken it looked delicious but tasted microwaved so I sent it back and got a cheese nacho with... jalapeno and this is what they gave me , I thought it was going to be actual nacho cheese. I didn't want it. The waiter was okay but probably won't be returning Read more
The chicken fried steak with brown gravy had good seasoning. The fried pickles are different. The wait time for the food was... very long. The service was good she did apologize for the wait time and explained the situation and gave us a free slice ofcherry pie and thanked us for being patient. So good job to our server. Read more
The waitstaff was awesome! The food was somewhere between good and very good. The chicken fried steak was very good, but lots of... breading. The catfish was good but didn't have cornmeal breading, it was something else which was a little odd. The fried okrais like most other places who serve frozen from a bag. Read more
So I finally made it out to GG's Seguin. I'll admit, after reading so many reviews slamming this new restaurant for weeks now I... was a little hesitant. I will say, at first it didn't seem promising, however I was presently surprised. I decided to go witha classic, Chicken Fried Chicken with gravy on the side, the veggie of the day (potatoes au gratin) and the side salad. Thefood was fresh, hot and came out timely. It was about 3:15pm when I arrived, there seemed to be an abundance of servers/stafffor little to no customers. But as I was leaving I noticed the restaurant was now at 75% capacity. If I have to nitpick, Iwould say, my waitress, although very attentive, did forget the rolls with my drink and salad. Also, the desserts lookedamazing, but the mandarin cake we usually get in Marion was really dry. The pecan pie, wow, better than Johnny's BBQ, andJohnny's been making pies since I was a kid! Over all, I would give this place 4 out of 5 stars. The food was delicious,Service was good and the price point was not bad at all. Read more
Wow! Not what I expected. I ordered the enchilada deluxe plate-minus lettuce, extra tomatoes. This came with chili and tomatoes... on top. When I first saw my plate I was like what the ###. But then I took my first bite. Loved it. Best enchiladas I have evergotten from a restaurant. The chocolate cake was great. A large slice that I couldn't finish. My waitress was friendly and welltrained. Highly recommend Seguin's newest restaurant. Read more
EDIT: I have to make an edit to my in original review. I've been back a few times and everything was good. However, my last... visit was very disapointing. Buyer beware. Read the menu carefully. The enchilada plate. Bah humbug!..$10 for two cheeseenchiladas with some so so chili. That's what you get, no side dishes. Oh and if you ask what makes the Deluxe version "Deluxe"for $11.99, the answer is lettuce and tomato! Hello this town is full of Mexican restaurants where for $10 you get superdelicious enchiladas with rice and beans chips and salsa!!!!!! Save your money and buy a slice ???? instead. Very surprised atthe quality. At first glance the menu seemed limited but it's full great options. From sandwiches to full plate dinners youcan't go wrong here. Everything is made fresh from the hand breaded fried okra to the homemade desserts. From start to finishthis was an excellent place to get comfort food. The service here is excellent. Everyone was so welcoming and genuinely happy tobe there to make sure you have a wonderful experience. We will be back for sure! Read more
