I am usually not very critical but in this case I must say how disappointed I was with this establishment. I will preface by... saying the service as far as server was top notch. Our group of four had four different dishes and only one was deemedacceptable because it was tasty. This was the beef short ribs. Unfortunately even this was lacking as was accompanied withgnocchi but maybe only 6 leaving me wanting more. The squash dish was completely tasteless, the cornish hen was dry and lackingin seasonings and spices ( rice was good) and the pork shank redemption tomato glaze or sauce tasted like canned tomatoes. Alldishes were served luke warm at best. For the price we were all very disappointed and really have a hard time understanding allthe positive reviews. Absolutely delicious. The cocktails were delicious and strong. The service was nice and fast. It was comfortable and relaxed. I... got a cocktail called "in all the gin joints" it was delicious. The ahi tuna was good and the lamb was delicious. We got gelatoand it was delicious! Read more
I am giving this one star because the waiter was excellent, otherwise, save your money and go somewhere else. The dish was... terribly presented and the food was extremely mediocre. I had the seasonal squash served over risotto. The squash was edible,but tasteless. The risotto was tasteless and undercooked.. My husband had the Cornish game hen, which was edible, but his ricewas undercooked as well as the vegetables. Servings are also extremely small, and I am not a big eater. Save your money and goto the Italian restaurant in the same plaza. This was our first night in Sedona and we were very disappointed. Good luck! Read more
J wine bistro was okay, we had the house salad which was just okay and arrived before our wine. Then we had the king salmon... which came out almost warm and pretty underwhelming. Also the pork schnitzel which was pretty good. The server was pleasantthough the service was just okay. Nothing to rave about here. We would not go back. Read more
Please note that when you receive your bill, they give you a coupon for 15% off the bill if you write a very positive review. So... the reviews here can't really be trusted. The service to start with was good, everything was going well. However, it took waaaayto long between the soup and the main dishes for a table of 4. The food was good but my wife ordered her steak medium rare andit was close to well done by the time it arrived. Likely because it sat too long before being served at our table. We had a great dinner here on a weeknight before it got busy. They don't have a kid's menu but the chef managed to throw... together some chicken fingers and pasta that the kids loved. The rest of the food was excellent and had the approval of ourentire party. My filet mignon and vegetables were expertly prepared and cooked promptly. Service was excellent and numerousmembers of the staff made sure our needs were met. If you are looking for higher class dining, J Wine Bistro will meet thatneed. Read more
We loved it!! I deffinetly will be back the lamb chops were awesome, the crab cakes were delicious and they have a great wine... selection and good beer selection. The owners are wonderful very friendly people as well as the chef! Wait staff is verryprofessional and timly. Always on top of it for you. And don't even get me started on the desert, very delicious! I give this 5 stars on food alone. It was outstanding and that is all there is to say. The staff was great. The chef/owner came... to talk to us which was nice. Absolutely fantastic. However...this is not a $$ restaurant. This is $$$ even by Sedona standards.The listing we saw was "less than $30" but when we got there the prices were well beyond that. The default is a fixed price 4course meal in the $65-$95 range with the option to opt-out of courses you don't want. Menu was limited but that's ok as theselection was fine and the quality was top-notch. I don't want to say not to go here but be warned, it's not cheap. Read more
