Reviews for La Trattoria Italiana at Ruby Lake Resort in Madeira Park, BC
Good food, but not so good service. We booked a reservation in advance for two and asked for the patio and we?re told our name... was down for that. When we arrived we were then told it was booked and no seats for two left. What was the point of thereservation and confirmation? We drove out here for the patio for an anniversary. In the end it was just a disappointingexperience. Will not return and don?t recommend. Read more
What a cute place and the food was fantastic. It?s a farm to table restaurant. The food is incredible. We ordered the wild boar... and the special seafood pasta and both were excellent! It was the best food we?ve had so far. The staff were super friendly aswell! I?d highly recommend this place. Read more
Our experience with the service was awkward. It was quite busy when we arrived so we asked if they had a table and the hostess... just said no, without offering any other options, the servers gave off the vibe that they didn't want us there. We had to ask toput our name down and they seamed confused/hesitant about this process. Nevertheless after we got our table the experience wasokay, service was only polite, the pasta was tasty and we left satisfied. A more Italian inspired dessert menu would have alsobeen better. Overall I would not come back due to the customer service and the vibes that were given off. Read more
This place was on another level. Do yourself a favor and go for the appy with the wild boar prosciutto if they still have it.... The seafood in my pasta was so fresh and the wild boar tenderloin in my partner's dish was charred and smokey, but notovercooked. All the accompaniments, including the extra side of creamy wild mushrooms ???? were perfect. The house red wasreally good quality and the dessert - panna cotta and the deconstructed cheesecake were a perfectly light finish to the meal. Wehad a full three course meal with extra sides and wine, and weren't left with that sick, heavy feeling. Great ambience and theservice as well. Worth. Every. Penny. Read more
An interesting place that aspires to fine dining but falls short on a couple of points. The menu was long on pasta but short on... other Italian choices.ie veal lasagna etc. The second is in decor. It is a mishmash of everything but Italian. Budda heads?? Theserved food was delicious. Well seasoned and presented. The kitchen is good, they just need a better menu. Read more
This little gem is hidden along a windy road in the middle of relatively nowhere. Perched along side a bird sanctuary with a... walking bridge and across the road from a lake it's full of rustic charm. The food is classic Italian fare and well done atthat. Service was quick and the food was delicious. Prices are a bit steep in some items but others are made up for with hugeportions. If you are in the area it's worth a visit for a fancy date, or relatively casual dinner. Read more

2 HOURS FOR FOOD! AND IT WAS BAD I came up from the city to enjoy the sunshine coast experience. Learned that this place has... slower service and food service than a package from china. It seems they have 1 cook and 20 waitresses. As well as this cook, can't follow instructions. I ask for blue- rare. Comes out as pink medium rare. It was super dry, no spices as well asflavorless In the city most places offer free food or at least apologize for the wait. But i heard nothing. If this restaurantwas in the city where its competitive they would fail as a business. This place only survives because its one of like 3restaurants. Never coming again. Quit your job ALDO let a real cook take your place. Read more
